Sad thing is I had one of those that I had modified the same way as @skunked to go on the Sniper but it didn't fit. After a little while I just thru it out because "what would I ever use this on...." :doah:

I’ve bought a bunch of stuff for this truck recently that I’ve sold over the past few years.

I’ll never use that....wrong! :rotfl:

I started installing the harness tonight and I’m a little frustrated with the wire lengths to each component on the top of the engine. The coolant lead is way too long, the injector lengths are bundled in two lengths on each bank (3&4 together and 1&2 together) however the injector lengths should be 4 different lengths on each bank. The MAP is a little too tight. The harness itself is well made with nice connectors, wrap and labels so I don’t understand why they wouldn’t put a little more time and effort into the fitment.

can you hide it under the main part of the intake runners like the rest of us have done ? i think it works better this way and also looks way better .

click my sig line link for budget beater . then click page 20 and start looking how i did mine first post on the top of page 20 .

The 1&2 injectors on both banks could run through the center and out each side but the rest of the injectors and components either can’t or it doesn’t make any sense to route them that way. Regardless the wire lengths could be improved. This is a big block btw.

@skunked , yup I felt that the wiring lengths could be more refined. On the small block, my main problem was the coolant temp. I have been tempted to shorten it with soldering butt connectors, then heat shrink, but I want to keep it clean.

They should let us cut to length and crimp . Or offer a kit that would let the few of us OCD people do it .

Too many window lickers would call tech support saying the product doesn’t work cuz they crimped it bad

I found new terminals at local shop, and I can't get the ones out of the temp sensor. Gave up before I ruined the terminals. Unpinning them seems to have a trick that I can't get with a Metri-pack tool.

Did you all just use the ignition wire that went to the distributor for the pink wire on the PF4?

I don't remember, but I had TBI, so probably not helpful anyway.
But isn't that kind of important to know if you ever have a lack of power to the PF4 issue? So you'll know what circuit to trace down?

But to your point, the last aftermarket EFI swap I did was also on a TBI truck so I was thinking it was probably a different wire. Here's how I did that wiring.

I put my ECU under the dash where the stock TBI unit goes. I think I have an extra plastic ECU mount if you want it.

I think mine is key hot to the old coil feed. I’m color blond

I end up tracing stuff so often at work, I just get used to refreshing my old brain when there's a problem. Old trucks are gravy compared to what we have at work. I used to be able to remember more though..

I know the feeling. What were we talking about anyway? :what:

I think I still have the one in the crew cab. I need to look behind the dash in the 73 and see what might work. I know the glove boxes in the TBI trucks have the indent to make room for the ECU. I may put it on the fender, but I was thinking I'd kinda prefer the cab. Especially since there's plenty of harness length.
