My throttle body looks like yours. But I have the Vortec manifold and it definitely has some more room under the runners and between the fuel rails and runners.

I'll be working on running my wiring harness on Saturday and will post pics of what I end up doing. I had to order different throttle cable and kickdown cable connections which delayed me some.

If you get a chance can you post a pic of your throttle cable bracket? I'm still working on getting that configuration setup in a manner that will work for running both the throttle and 700R4 kickdown cable properly.

Okay, the Vortec explains it. I was looking at yours trying to figure out why it would be different; didn't pickup on the center bolt valve covers.

Mine has a TH350. I went with the Edelbrock cable bracket. You can see the one side good in this picture. I can get a picture of the other side this weekend.

Some intakes fit plugs under and spin injectors . . Some dont .

My vortec L31 intake they JUST squeezed under the intake runners .

And you have the latest version of the TB unit is all .
Did some poking around the Edelbrock forum and figured that out. I downloaded the newer version of the instructions and it's good thing I did because I would have plugged the injectors in on the wrong side. Like a dummy I was thinking of it like I was standing in front of the engine and not sitting in the driver seat like everything else you orientate in a car. :doah:

That image isn't in the older instructions.

Ha, I suppose I should read those instructions . . . I had mine backwards at first too.
Just an FYI those little injector plugs are a bit of a bugger to get removed once plugged in. That little wire needs to be pulled off without flinging it in some deep dark corner!

Funny you say that. I suspected they might be a pain which was why I had been asking about rotating the injectors and all that. :D

I also found a nice set of instructions specifically for the distributor. I wasn't clear on what they meant about the small tooth entering the sensor. I figured out the small tooth, but it was "entering the sensor" that was throwing me. The instructions help with that. I attached PDF of the instructions to this post.

Started running the injector harness but didn't get far before other obligationscame up. Curious if you all can give me some idea on the routing. Is the harness long enough you can route it behind the distributor? Or does it need to run across between the distributor and throttle body? I'm putting this on a pre 86 SBC; not sure if a BBC would route the same.

I would say yes, but I am not exactly sure. I put my ECM in the original TBI location and still had enough length to have slack in all of the wire harnesses from my recollection. But I was trying to get as much separation as possible between spark plug wires and injector wires because of reading how some had problems with other systems getting interference. I may have gone low with the injector harness so that up higher was available for plug wires. That would make me think that I just went between the distributor and throttle body.

That's my aim too, I'm trying to run the harness down low with the plug wires up high.

I had started to route it and it looks like the question might be where the left side splits off from the rest of the harness. I think that might get jammed up on the distributor.

I'm going to have to get my board out so I can lay over the engine bay and reach the back of the motor easier.

That's a good idea, I always end up standing on a tire with my knees darn near bent backwards trying to reach everything.

BroFlow for the big truck too I see...

I figured someone was going to think that. That's just the best pic I have. I couldn't find my creeper board this weekend so this is it in use without that part.

This is how I ended up routing the harness around the distributor. It's a little more complicated because this engine has the factory mechanical oil pressure line.

I've been using the MagDaddy magnetic tie downs since I put the Sniper system in the crew cab (Can I mention that EFI system in this thread? :o ) I use them for routing the harness around the engine bay.

I thought about doing something fancy for mounting the ECU, but then I thought it can just sit right here on the inner fender with no need to get complicated.

Only thing special I did was to add a bracket that raises the heater hoses up so the wire harness could go under it. Since the jack sticker was still intact I had to take a picture of it before covering most of it up. I also intentionally didn't drill thru it.

The only glitch I ran into with the harness is the coil wires. Because I ended up with the coil on the driver side of the firewall, the coil leads wouldn't reach. I had to add 1ft to the Pro-Flo harness. I used a weatherpack plug to do that.

The throttle return spring took some head scratching. I ultimately decided to put it under the bolt for the thermostat house.

Another picture of the throttle linkage for what it's worth @MT Bill

Thanks for the pic of the throttle bracket/linkage. I ended up doing spacers to get the throttle linkage a little more in line.
I didn't connect the throttle return spring . . . . . . . . .maybe I should do that.

Your wiring turned out much cleaner than mine! I got fed-up with trying to make it look decent and decided to get it running and figure out the cleanup later.

After a weekend fighting against my own dumb moves, I got her to fire up last night. I was spent and didn't get any pics or video.
I'm going to try get the grill & hood installed tonight to take the engine out for proper break-in.

I'm the nerd that just follows the instructions. Except the part about not installing the O2 sensor if it wasn't going to be plugged into the harness because damage WILL occur.

That's the only thing I have left to do to fire mine off. I forgot my O2 socket at work and for some reason I don't have a 7/8" end wrench at home.
