I like Bent's method for finding the best FI system.

Step 1...research all the brands
Step 2...narrow the search using all the critical info, features, cost benefit analysis, anecdotal customer feedback.
Step 3...buy every system made, one at a time.

Unorthodox, but thorough! :waytogo:

I don’t feel bad

Sold the tbi with the old engine, got $700 for the whole mess
Fi tech I never actually ran. But I’m counting it because I can
Holley I am out a bit of money, but not bad
Reinvested all of it in the Edelbrock

Yup, I have a 195 thermostat in mine too. Played around with it some today chasing the off idle stumble and trying to get rid of the stutter below 1400 rpm in OD. We got it to drive very well and then found out that it would die if I cracked the throttle and let off, like backing into a parking space. It all apparently came back to too much timing at idle, since this system uses the idle map below 1400 rpm and less than 50% throttle. I had asked about changing this rpm switch point, but it isn't possible. Well we had given it lots of timing and adjusted the AFR to get the driveability at low rpm. We ended up pulling timing back down to 22* at idle, idle will go all the way down to 500 rpm when commanded to, but we set it back up to 650. It now will stay running with stupid throttle action, like several decent bumps on/off of the throttle in a row, in gear. Didn't take it out and test the OD cruise tonight after that.
But it will bump, bump, floor it and go with no stumble. Slide the back end around on the sand covered asphalt, drive it stupid...

:saweet: :D

We have the idle speed set at 650, the timing starts advancing at 700. All in by 3000. We'll see how it does. It still charges with the headlights on, blower on low and the steering still works stopped with the brakes on in gravel.

good feedback .

@6872xtc i assume its all stupid easy to understand when adjusting on the tablet ?
Yes, easy , however reading through the small booklet helps. You will want to read how to get into the advanced settings after you run it a while. I still don't know how well it will start in the lower temperatures now, but all that I had to do last time was touch the pedal lightly. It has pulled fuel out of it on the long term trim, and I haven't added much back for cold enrichment yet.

i am not super tech of a guy so should i try and find my own tablet and hope its o.k. quality and function or just spend the 100 bucks extra and get the acer tablet with the pro flo 4 kit ?

i was hoping to play with the program in demo mode before i purchased the unit .

I bought my own tablet, I use it more for internet access at home vs playing with the injection. But my buddy used it a good part of the afternoon yesterday while riding, and liked the size. I bought a 9.7" Samsung.
By myself, the my phone is easier to watch, sitting on the dash. So @Bent77 and I were discussing how maybe the 7" tablet COULD possibly be a nice size. Keep in mind that I have bucket seats, and no holder for the tablet.
I never tried demo mode. I honestly feel that you have little to worry about. The initial setup is easy, and after that, it's simple to change settings, ask questions here and of Edelbrock, go back, whatever.

So I just tired demo mode. It isn't near as fun when you don't get to hear or feel the change in the engine!
If you have some way to download the app from Google play, try it !

I too use it more for other things than the FI.
It's a good size for cruising the internet. If I only used it for the FI , I'd personally go smaller

Hopefully the tuner comes preloaded. If not, it's super simple to set up and go

ya should be on it and i read up on install its easy .

can the unit have pre saved tunes like the OTHER brand did ? or is it just 1 tune only ?

It’s roughly the same

You don’t tell it what cam you have, but you go off the chart for the cam characteristics and vacuum

I used the 5006 even though it’s a lot more than stock, the vacuum is right

yep thats the one 5006 they told me to use on the edelbrock forum when i asked and gave them my engine info and idle vac range .
