The Shop Truck

1971 Chevy C20 with a custom flat bed.
Nice catch on the street sign!
also Clydes is the best burger joint in da UP!
As mentioned, this tuning is outer space for me, but if I keep reading it long enough maybe this old dog can learn something!

That's kind of crazy, all my pressure and temp sensors are from almost 10 years ago now, all Holley.

I had a IAC vibrate loose, I used loctite on it after that.

The only sensor I have had go bad was an O2 sensor, but that was pretty much right away because the self learning added 100% fuel at low RPM and flooded it before I learned to limit/correct that.

Now that I said that they will probably start failing one after the other.

Well, I just hooked the sensor back up to do some testing and it's working fine. I reinstalled it and everything looks good now. I'm wondering if I got some water in the connector when we washed the engine bay in Michigan and that was causing the bad reading.

Unfortunately we've had too much going on, plus I didn't get all the parts I needed ordered. There's no way we're going to make the 19th. The next one will the week after on the 25th, so hopefully we're good for that one.

I finally got a chance to do a little work on the truck this afternoon. I swapped the even and odd injectors, swapped #6 and #8 EGT probes, and swapped #6 and #4 spark plugs.
While I didn't get the huge dip in EGT temps on #5 like I saw when the injector was in #6, it was the coldest hole when under heavy load. It was hardly noticeable at all with the big pulley in, I had to put the smaller one on to get it to show up at all.

The white line is #5, #6 is one of the pink lines. By the end of the pull it's the lowest temp, but the entire spread from hottest to coldest is only 100°F. If you look at the graph from before I swapped injectors around #6 was 300°F cooler at the worst point.
I have a cheapy fuel injector cleaner rig, I may pump some washer fluid through all of these and just run them at the next test and tune. If the issue comes back, I'll stop, but I need to get out and test the transmission, fuel injectors and new driveshaft (once I get it).
