Engine rebuild suggestions

ok so these are odd heads, they are similar to gen 1 sbc, only the 4 center bolt holes are at a different angle. These are not votec heads. I would look for set of heads and not spend any money on these.
Either go old school with some good gen 1's, or update to real votec heads and the manifold to match.
hole
Also these heads need guide plates or shelf centering rocker, because of the round push rod holes
Great info, thank you. I’ll look for a different set.

Ok last thing, do you know the casting number for first gen heads?

There are a few good ones to look for, and some you want to stay away from.
I have some info at home, I will post it later this evening.

ok so Gen 1 heads for a 350, there are many to choose from. I am guessing you want a reasonably performing head and small spark plugs, and accessory bolt holes. I am going to list a couple, these might be hard to find might not, Gen 1 stuff many have lost interest since ls swaps have become the thing.

3998993 69-74 came on passenger cars and light trucks, some target motors.
330545 71-73 350 and 400's small plugs heavy casting
468642 71-85 350 and 400's small plugs heavy castings came on cars and trucks and couple corvettes
3973487 71-76 350 cars trucks and vettes

No 399882 or 468624
Something to consider, the last set of heads I had machined cost almost as much as set of Edlebrock's basically ready to go.
Any gen 1 head you find will probably be machined at least once, maybe more. so the combustion chambers will be reduced in volume, affecting the compression ratio.
If you find something post up the casting numbers and date codes I will try and give you info on them.
What I listed is only a small selection.
I left out all the HI performance heads in favor of the medium ones, better for truck motors.
