i want to make mine go straight up and out. ive seen where they take a header flip it over and put like a 6 in round chrome tip on it , i think there called tight fit or block headers. searched on ebay and they want like 110.00 for them. and the pipes are like 50.00. so iam trying to figure out what regular exhaust manifold i can use upside down and with the exit go stright up. one guy told me to find ones that go on some 327 s. any one got any ideas.

chrisblazzer89 the best way i can describe them is what they use on demolition derby cars. i dont know how you guys make where there is another site that you want to go to while you are reading apost and you click on it and it comes right up . i m kind of computer iliterate but if you search ebay under auto and search small block chevy headers demolition derby chrome . they are exactly what i want. or you can search demolition derby headers or tractor pull headers.

your talkin about zoomies aint ya...there was a pic posted on here awhile ago, IIRC the guy had dual wheels from & rear and the thing was painted white.

just buy header flanges and make your own, probably the easiest way possible... i think it looks cool with them straight out the wheel well...

The manifolds you want were used by GM into the 70s. Rams horn, is what I call them. Look for early 70s trucks in salvage yard.:D

those are the ones where the "collector" is in the center, as opposed to the back, correct?

dont use center dumps, you'll run into the MC. we've tried it before on derby trucks. block hugger headers do the same thing, so those are out too.

the headers you see on Ebay, i'm assuming are these.

i actually had to remove the power booster to get these to clear, and even then they BARELY cleared.

what you need is a forward dump header...

www.decheaders.com expect to pay ~$150 for a set of headers in 1 1/2" with the proper forward offset though.

i put an ad on another site and a guy had just called me and said he custom makes them and he lives a hour and half from me cost is 115.00 he makes them 4 into 1 or as he called them corn rows like in the pictures of beater k20 iam going to get the 4 into 1 thanks for all the info. and its simple just cover them when it rais or put it in the shed.

are you sure that this will give you enough backpressure to not burn your valves??? bc this is basically hte same as open headers and i though with that you will burn up your valves...

make DAMNED sure he'll make them to clear your booster/mc. the upward bend in them will have to be VERY tight in order to pull it off. unless you can talk him into forward dumps like i posted from DEC.

yeah i got alot of measureig to go over with him and to broncoman6524 s reply will it have anough back pressure so it wont burn up the valves? cause i see alot of mud trucks have them around here. i ll check back into this thread tomorrow after work.
