Extra gauge locations?

I was thinking about doing that but doesn't the glare/reflection on inside of windshield impair it visually?

that's EXACTLY how that rig sits currently.. no window... :haha:

but as my other post with Mutt's hood shows, gauges on the cowl are nothing new, I've done it many times.. ya see fine.....

and I expect it will be MUCH better viewing under the back of the cowl.. I always wanted to do on my 70 chevelle SS with the real flapper hood....

keep in mind, this is a crappy cam sitting on the dash, much better angle visually.. the wipers aren't an issue..

the only issue is the sun has actually faded that Pro Comp pointer from orange, to white..

I like that! My experience is with Toyota, I didn't realize Mitsubishi's had them too. :them:

I'm curious how the engine compartment heat might effect the gauges (longevity, not accuracy).

It gets really hot in the cab with the windows rolled up in the summer and it never affects gauges so...

No doubt the cab gets hot, we've all seen the news stories related to interior temps exceeding 110+°. I was thinking the exhaust manifold + turbo temps would take the engine compartment well above that. I know it takes time but if the under hood temps can cause wiring connectors, coolant jugs and such to become brittle over time then it might adversely effect gauges too.

Well?? What is your $20 dashboard special?

I have this one perched upon my dashboard. Clearly intended for the Jeep crowd, but it still makes me smile watching the tiny Jeeps bounce around. :)

Perhaps insulating the gauge?

Depending on how tall you are a pyro and boost mounted on the headliner area would work.

I'm 5'10" on a good day and gauges on the dash or cowl just impede my view of hot chickadees walking through the crosswalk at the mall.

I did the 73-87.com A pillar gauge pod.

I love it. My only complaint is the Banks gauges are LED lighted. I can’t turn them down and it makes a blinding blind spot at night. I need to pull them apart and cover the lights with something.

I don't have a headliner or any nice trim to make a pillar pod look good. Its a very low option truck. I'll probably do the cheesy dash pod in the left corner of the windshield because the other ones will probably make me cut up the dash pad for an idea I'm not even sure will work.

just for reference.. my K5 always had a bad pad in it from day one.. had my ole AM sitting around... slammed it down in the low area to the right.. and it was very effective there...
