EZO's Build Thread - Recipe for disaster... BUMPSTOPS, rough draft version 1.0

Sorry, I wasnt up to speed on the whole swapping, buying, selling thing. Won't happen again, at least not today:wink1:
I just want to prevent you from joining the band, you could miss out on a lot of good tech info. It is well worth it to get the $25 membership, then you could PM him about the wheels, and never get in any trouble. I'm not a mod, so there really isn't anything I can do to you, but they don't need any extra work either. Welcome to the board, the best on the web.

Well I got some more done yesterday...

Buh Bye dually hubs...

Or get the dealys you put under your tires to roll a car around, take the tires off and set it on them.

Noob question: why did you take the shock mount off?

AHHhhhhh I`ve read the tech....but do you ,or any one , have close up - more detailed pics of the F**d towers?

Gonna order up some Walker Evans Beadlocks for wheels.

Planning on either 37" or 40" MTR's - see how much trimming I need to do once I get the lift all done.

If its not too much trimming I may just slap some 1" Zero Rates on and go with 40's - we will see

You will love the wheels, but trust me go to 40's. If you go 37's you will want the 40's. Either size though sure is pretty!!!

Wow...now I do REALLY want 40's... I just don't know if I can justify the extra $100+ per tire right now...

I was actually pricing some BFG Krawlers also... they weigh a little less than the MTR's

and I can't wait till I get those wheels!!! Bling baby!

COOL!! blallpark ,how soon?

I will be working on the truck a few nights this week.

First is to get the new ORD front shackle hangers installed.
Then I am going to tackle the new engine crossmember.

I am waiting on some knuckle shock tabs from DIY for the front axle.
When the shock tabs are welded on and its mounted to the springs, I can then figure out exactly where I am going to put my shock towers.

update...

Started a little trimming... :D

Leaky seals... drums were coated in diff oil... I bet those brakes were working nice :doah:

Misc+008.jpg

YAY!! Rear disks!!

Misc+010.jpg

Of course when I removed the passenger side hub I had a bearing that was bad.....sooooo I went ahead and rebuilt both of the rear hubs $$$$$ :eek1:

Got my comp motor mounts and the engine cross member in - what a pain in the arse!

Plenty more to come...

Hey is this a shackle flip im tryin to figure out what that is and im thinkin its this. im referring to the last picture on the forth post of this thread

so i have a few questions what was the original lift height and what was the new lift height with the shackle flip, and what did you end up goin with the shackle, diy? is it really as simple as jackin up your rig unbolting the old mount and replacing it with the new one?

You have to grind/torch/chisel/drill/whatever off the old mount's rivets. Then you bolt the flip's mount on.

It gets you 4" of lift while using a softer, smaller pack than a 4" lift. 4" of lift = stock pack. 6" lift = 2" pack, 8" lift = 4" pack, etc etc.
Some guys also go to a longer rear spring to get even more flex out of the rear at the same time.

ezo, nice truck and like the build man!:waytogo:
