Street Locks
I got some (non real bead locks ) Called Street locks a while back, as they are NOT real bead locks they are not for hard core climbing , BUT the bead lip is extra thick and does protect the bead from damage, from moderate rocks and stumps. I didnt know how well they would work until i got into a accident. A S10 hit my Montero ( i also have 2 K5s ) at about 30 mph hit the left rear Q Panel dead on and spun me around. The Wheel took 90% of the impact. Small dent on the body but the rim was bent a good 15 degrees... but the bead DIDNT break , no air loss, and it got me the 2 or 3 blocks to the tire shop so they could help me change it. No they are not real bead locks, and if i was doing hard core comp crawling id use real bead locks, but for a DD that does some trail hopping and stump jumping the ones i have are better than stock rims but if course not as good as real bead locks. A nice middle road.
