Falling Truck Prices

Costco in SLC was $3.82.9 last week.

Oil's high was $147.00 a barrel on 7/17. It's now down below $105.00; a 29% decrease. On the way up prices rose almost daily, but on the way down they sure are slow to fall.

Overpriced

There's a guy near my job that has a sweet 1991 K5, I've talked to him a couple of times. A couple of weeks ago he came into my job and told me he's selling it ( couldn't afford the DD fuel). He wanted to sell it for $6K... I told him he might have to lower his asking price. But he said "NO I'M STICKING TO IT"!

yeah now that oil is down to $105/barrell OPEC is talking about producing less. O well I'm going to go to the Complete Vehicles section and lower my prices drastically.

in my area, it makes a big difference what truck you're after. I see dodges and fords for sale all the time but not nearly as many chevy/gmc trucks, and when i do see gms, they're more expensive. for example, i saw a 2wd 2000 ram xcab v8 (not sure which v8) with 100K miles and in good shape for $3000 this weekend. same day, i saw a 2wd 93 sierra xcab 350 with 170K miles for $5500. the next day, the gmc said "sold", the ram didn't. I've been very tempted to get a mildly lowered 90s chevy. my 94 is mostly stock, my blazer is lifted, so i could add a street style truck to the mix, then park them in a row and smile. drive them? r u crazy? have you seen the price of gas?:wink1:

saw a fun license plate sunday on a new silverado... "I O GMAC"

Well, in aftermarket trading oil was trading at $101.74.

I hope the speculators are losing their, ah, shirts.

I'm guessing that many people who traded in their SUV's/pickups this last summer for Toyota Prius's, etc. and got almost nothing for them are questioning those decisions.

I have a '90 Suburban listed for sale and I'm having trouble getting offers above what it is worth as scrap weight... and it is a very nice one.

What would really make me smile is if truck PARTS prices would fall. Then I could finish all the junk I have and wouldnt worry about a newer truck.:doah:

They have... at least for used parts out here anyway. It's been very hard to sell an M1008 Dana 60 with 30K miles for $1200.
