did some maintenance on the burb today, repacked the front wheel bearings and replaced the wheel seals, the jamb nuts were both just finger tight, changed the motor oil, tried to fix the lock on the barn door (not sure if its fixed).

looking good...I need to do my grill. Gonna keep the chrome though. :waytogo:

new headlights the other day, my high beams wouldnt work and when i oulled one of the plugs to check power, the whole bulb piece pulled out the back lol.

were slow at work today so one of the mechanics vac'd and recharged my A/C on the burb so now she blows nice and cool.

The last 3 or 4 weeks i have been away about 4 days a week for work so when i was home on the weekends it was making up family time i had lost, and ordering parts.

Last weekend i changed out the ball joints and all the tie rods, took about 12 hours. one hour and 15 minutes from the time i jacked it up and i had the passenger side knuckle off, driver side took 5 hours lol. I ended up having to cut the top ball joint out of the "C" and the bottom was still siezed up. had to put the ball joint press on the lower ball joint to put pressure on it and still beat the crap out of it with my THOR hammer lol.

But now its all back together and driving good, the top ball joint on the passenger side was the reason i changed them and when i got it out, it was just flopping around.

Next: get with kgblazerfive and pick up some doors, then find an XJ steering shaft.

Funny story, once upon a time my front end was shot. Floppy ball joints, tie rod ends etc. I changes all of it and didn't really notice a huge improvement in driveabilty. Then I did the xj shaft AMD noticed a huge difference. I was kinda pissed that this silly little shaft would outshine all that other work I did...

picked up the doors and some other odds and ends from Keith (kgblazerfive) today, thanks again. Then went to Smith and Edwards in Ogden, if you have never been there it is a huge surplus store. we spent 4 hours in there and i know we didn't see everything lol, but i got 2 more ammo cans for the driver side door. i wont be able to do anything with them till probably next week since i am heading back to Vernal Utah Monday-Wednesday (i have been there 3-4 days a week for the last 4-5 weeks now).

tinkered with odds and ends stuff on the burb over the last couple weeks.

when we recharged the A/C, we vac tested it and it said no leaks, we recharged it and with a month it was empty again, so i ripped the stock heater A/C unit out and put in my summit heater, i am going to turn the A/C compressor into an OBA setup.

mounted the doors i got, the welder at work quit working so i have not been able to weld the ammo can(s) into the other door, but now im thinking of changing the driver side door storage

also built some storage on the side, may not be pretty but it keeps things corralled

You could make a mount that one or two could fit in. I put one in it when we went to Moab. Kind of just wedged it in.

snow and cold temps hit before i could get my adjustable thermostat for the electric fan hooked up. so next best thing.... pull the fuse to the fan lol. its cold enough out and with the aluminum radiator, i havnt even needed to kick the secondary fan on.
