I saw that post, lots of good stuff for a smokin good price.

Time for shocks. I've always used 2000s f250 rear monroe shocks on my wheelers. Good shock, inexpensive and 13" of travel all for about $30 each. I had a set laying around for another project so I decided last night to toss them on so I'd have some kinda shock. The rears are a straight swap and with the shackle flip I have about 4" on travel on the shock. Adding my ez inch will bring this to 5". Perfect for a low crawler.

The fronts all I needed to do was pull the sleeve out of the top eye on the factory shock and install it in the monroe. With 4" springs and an ex inch I only have 3" of up travel in stock mounts. I'm OKish with this for now. In it's current state it's a pavement pounder. I'm not going to design shock hoops and everything now and change it all when I get my 60 finished and installed. They do make a 10.5 " travel that I thi k would be good in my current setup if I was to leave it like this. Also they make a 12" travel that I think would be perfect on a 6" lift. The 13 would be great on a 6" and ez inch.

That's all assuming your want to use the factory mounts. For hard wheeling they are not good enough IMO.

Truck rides as good as a leaf spring truck on bias ply 39.5 TSLs could now.

Here are the monroe part numbers. Most advanced autos and such stock them.

Part #34930 - 9.875 travel
Part #34964 - 10.625 travel
Part #34685 - 11.750 travel
Part #34687 - 13.000 travel

A pair of sockets and vise or press make quick work of removing the sleeve from the top of the factory shock.7777.jpeg 7778.jpeg

Simply slide it in the top bushing of the new shock. Use the factory spacer and hardware and intall.7774.jpeg

And for comparison a 13" monroe vs a 14" bilstien. If you can do without the inch of travel (most can) it's a way more compact setup.

Thanks for posting the info about the shocks! I might have to give those a try.
