Father-daughter 76 annihilator build

Good news just running rich and loaded up plugs bad, so new plugs seems to have fixed, take out hunting today and test drive. I'm more of parts changer I think then a true mechanic. Could have found problem but time always seems to be issue and sometimes I don't seem to have the patience anymore. Maybe burning some oil also so might do compression check if problem continues, probably leaking some past valve guides is all. Need to drive it more:thumb: and wheel the **** out of it for awhile myself so I can get a better idea of how it's all working:woot:

I have a chance to get some Mickey Thompson classic bead lock wheels that were for a 99 to 2013 ford 8 lug. Does anyone know if these will fit 14 bolt Chevy and if they are any good, 300 for 4 I need wheels now that I found axles but don't know if ford and Chevy 8 lugs are interchangeable.

Thanks for your reply I was just under the impression that they might be able to swap, I'll have to keep looking.

I think I just scored a set of 38 tires for my future axles. A little bigger then I wanted to start with but can't beat the price so when building axles might gear down more. Super deal from olanchamedic will check them out tomorrow. So question for you all, running my 4in lift and cut out fenders with flares how close are they going to be for a fit?

Wheels

One other question on wheels and tires. These are 16.5 wheels and rims are going to be harder to come by? Types that are 16.5 ?

I might have some 16.5 rockcrawler rims for sale here very shortly , as I am really close to ordering some TWF recentered H1's and will be selling mine.

Very cool keep me in mind please as trying to go low budget for next several years till kids done college. Looking for anything to just get her a little more strengthened up. Will hopefully start working on at least a bender and back cage this spring, then axles and so on:whistle:

What back spacing, more or less then the normal 4 in. Which is what I thought was what I was hunting. Please explain.

When I bought my rims I wanted the wheels to stick out a little. With measuring and some help they wanted me to get 3.5" backspacing and said 4" would be close to hitting the fenders. Well, I took my chances and went with 4" since my axle is moved forward as a result my wheels rubbed the fangs on the front when I turn in certain situations. It isn't a big issue for me but if you wheel much it could be. I hope this makes since. Good Luck:waytogo: Nice truck and great job with being a Dad.

New body lift installed

Got the new body lift and body mounts in, took better part of two days. Question for youall that run body lift... How did you get the fan shroud back down, I made some tabs but now have gap so was hopeful somebody came up with some easy fix.

body lift

I also got in today to test drive and shift linkage is all wrong by a gear, wont go into first and park!! must have bent something when lifting it I guess. nothing is ever simple..:dunno:

shift linkage has a pass through nut thin g that has a set screw/bolt in it that the rod goes through. block the tires, loosen that set screw, put shifter in park, make sure tranny is in park then tighten that set back up..:waytogo:

Won't go into hi lock or low lock either so having issues with 4in lift and body lift together, thanks for info on shifter linkage I will try tomarrow then look at transfer case, hopefully didn't bend something when jacking back and forth.

Don't post people have to weld an extension onto the bottom of the trans shift rod?

As for the tcase shifter, you might need to trim the floor a little to allow for full range of motion now that the floor is higher up the shifter.
