Father-daughter 76 annihilator build

Tranny

Thanks Martin will try this weekend, just lost fishing buddy at only 46 to cancer so has not been a good couple of weeks to accomplish anything 30 days from diagnosis to gone, hitting home hard he was a good friend, dad and family man. Trying to get kids up with their grandpa for salmon fishing because you just never know how long you got to do the things that matter most and create the memories that last forever. Thanks for tip.:waytogo:

Sorry for your loss of your friend. I agree with Martin that it is probably an internal linkage issue but don't know why that would have changed after the lift. Of course check the outside linkages first then if all is right pull the pan and report.

Tranny clutches bad

So it seems the th350 has seen its last days due to years of leaking and abuse the clutches are seized up sooo now questions for upgrading to maybe monster 700 r4 and how hard the swap would be. Any advise and know how will be appreciated as not going to put bigger motor and keeping it mostly stock as is. Just want to upgrade to 4speed with lower first if swap is fairly simple.

Are you going to upgrade the transfer case whole you're at it? A parts truck would be a good buy, the you would have all of the associated parts.

Martin

Since the frames on our trucks were very similar or exactly the same some years a 700 swap can be easily accomplished. Dont forget the TV cable. This is not a kickdown cable. It controls line pressure

700r4

can your run these 700r4 with a fully selectable type shifter and reverse shift pattern? that is what I would prefer some kind of gate or quick silver type ratchet.

Yes, you can do full manual reverse valve body. One concern for some is that the transmission will run full line pressure all the time making the shifts quite harsh.

I had a 700 in my Holley carb'd K5 and the aftermarket brackets don't quite get the throw right for the 700r4's TV cable and it never quite shifted right.

I have TBI now with the same 700 transmission. I can tell the shifting is right now because the TBI has the correct bracket from the factory.

what I like about a RMVB 700 is the fact you don't need the tv cable with the full line pressure...

Mr k5 if you just run a fully selectable ratchet type and shift when you want do you still need tv cable? What type of shifter am I hunting any help narrowing selection and what others have run or are running and happy with is what I am interested in.

Ryokin are you sayin no tv cable and you are running rmvb 700, on monster site it says I need if changeling over but have not called them and talked yet just tryin to pick k5 rs brains first and hopefully avoid some pitfalls and money spent wrong.

if it is not a manual valve body, you still need a tv cable...

for a gated shifter, it's hard to beat the art carr/winters shifters..

that's just a random google image.. it's just a different sticker, the shifter is the same.. but yes, they have RVB stickers iirc......

they have one of those too:thumb: (middle one) I want to use one of their 4l60 (or 80) e's in my burb... ill have to check out bowtie too.

I've heard too many iffy things about monster in the past.. maybe they're better these days...
