So far they are great. Of course, I've only been using them for 3 days. However, it's rained pretty hard every day and it doesn't look like much water gets through. The water beads up on the cover. I'm not sure how long that'll last though. I bought them because I heard people on CK5 recommend them for keeping dew out when they had the top off.
The fit is pretty good too. Of course, you'd have to take any antennas off but it seems very well matched to the body of the K5. On my green '76 I had to take off the external spare tire and mount for it to fit.
