Finally build thread worthy material

That's what I figured. I used the ones it came with on the top ( bolt head side ). But it didn't come with any for the nut side. I will add some ASAP. It's a 1.25 inch drop btw Cherry.

Yep, I am having a local shop do a custom Y pipe for me...to clear the front driveshaft. Then I will be getting a new (longer/high angle) front driveshaft.

If I can get it all dont by next friday....i will be taking it on a 3 hour trip out to my buddy's ranch. im stoked. its soooooooo quiet now. I cant believe how much noise it used to make. somehow i solved my distributor making noise too...bonus!

Come grab this muffler before you go to the exhaust shop. Have them weld it on and do turndownsss

How are you having them route the y pipe? Post some pics up when you get it done...

I am having the Y pipe routed in front of the trans pan (so it can still be dropped) will post pics when I pick it up.

I am also having them replace my front driveshaft, since its too short now. They think I can get away with just lengthening it.

I also found out that one of my wheels is bent, so I decided to take the new wheel I got for a spare, and go ahead and buy 3 more to match. So I will have new rims, and just take the best of the old rims to put my spare on.

I am picking it up on thursday, and headed out of town (3 hour drive) to my buddies ranch for a weekend of offroading. I am pretty nervous, given that I have driven it about 50 miles total, and will be setting out on an adventure.

Not to jynx myself...but JUST IN CASE I have issues and need to be towed. Do you just call any ole tow company? or would it take a special setup to tow these trucks?

Call us up! We have a Wrecker service outside of Marble Falls. The buddy system will get you a cheaper tow. :)

How much you charge to drive all the way to Eden, TX to pick me up

I think I may just go for it...it will be an adventure. There is pretty much nothing out there but a womens prison....what could possibly go wrong ;)

I will just bring a blanket and pillow in case I end up spending the night on the side of the road.

In the immortal words of Captain Ron...

got a call from the shop this morning...

exhaust routing is almost done, they said its tucked in sooo close to the front of the trans pan, but I can still get to the bolts and drop it.

they had to cut and drill out the rusted manifold bolts and replace the gaskets....good!

getting the tires on the new rims

and they said they can get away with simply lengthening and rebalancing my front drive shaft (its a cv style already)

I cant wait!

Here are some quick teaser pics of the exhaust reroute before I hit the road. Wish me luck. Got four new rims and a spare tire now

Well. Just got back. She made the 6 hours of driving without issues. However. Only made it home in 2 wheel drive. Was doin fine for 2 days of heavy offloading. Then when I went through some gnarly 3 ft deep ruts and was climbing out POP! A loud pop. And no more front wheel drive. Driveshaft spins but in 4wd the front wheels don't. I was in 4 low and 1 gear and gave it a heavy foot right before it happened. Funny thing was....i finished the ruts just fine and drove right into the middle of the pond....that's when I realized I was only 2 wheel drive. Haha. Lots of mudding involved too this weekend.

Broken axle shaft maybe? Blown up hub? Exploded diff? Where do I begin?

Better pics coming when I unpack.

Ive got extra shafts, i'll give em to you

could that be what happened? I took one of my hubs off, and it looked ok...but the axle shaft would move in and add just a tad.

the axle shaft wouldnt pull out far enough to let the snap ring lock in place tho. Also....my hub was too hard to manually move in and out of 4x4 / 4x2 but if I rolled forward, it would then switch back and forth easily, but then the OTHER side hub would be hard to rotate now.

In two wheel drive lock both hubs in and then crawl under and spin the drive shaft and see if one of the side spins. You shouldn't be able to spin the front drive shaft with both hubs locked.

you have to put prybar in the axle shaft and pull towards the wheel to move the shaft out far enough to get the snap ring on. that's what i did when we replaced the wheel bearings. did you unlock the hubs for the trip home.
