Finally build thread worthy material

I now know these won't work. What do I actually need? I thot my axles were from a 79 k20. I found a part number online for a warn 9072. It looks right. Freakin expensive!

Yeah, those axles are from 1973-1975 K20 (I believe). I have the same axle on my 1988 V10 Suburban. They came from a 1975 K20. They good thing is that you should have a flat top knuckle if you want to do crossover steering later.

Oh, and yeah, the lockouts are more expensive for an external hub.

I priced out the mile markers and they are only a hundred dollars. Compared to 260 for the warns. What's up with that?

Should I just contact warn and try to order the replacement parts I need

Steps on steps on steps!

Got the new hubs installed. We have four-wheel-drive again! warns let me down so I am going with the mile markers this time

Im gonna take it out this sunday to the local offroad park for the first time. If something breaks this time, you can follow my thread in the classifieds section :haha:

I wish I would have found y'all again. Me and colin played around on greenhorn and wet and wild. And then we lost corn and all met back up at camp.

I always make a quick video after I ride dirtbikes...I figured the truck deserved a "trailer" of today's fun. Plus, if im gonna drop $10k in a truck...im gona get my moneys worth!

kinda....I can say that "taking it easy" offroading....is kinda boring. But none the less, I was off the pavement for a few hours with the truck. Had fun, but still taking it waaaaa easier than everyone else.

Now that I am back, I have a clicking sound while I am at slow speeds and turn the wheel.

I did notice that my XJ shaft connection up at the firewall side, had broken the nut end off the bolt and it was not clamping down hard. This might account for a small amount of slack in my steering.

this is how much steering wheel play I have. the truck is on jack stands, and I am moving the steering wheel, but not enough to make the tires move.

how normal is this? I know that old components will have some play, I am just wondering how much better I can make the driving by replacing some parts.

tie rod, drag links, ball joints, etc are all new.

psh. wimp. you should see mine.
id say thats close to noemal for an old box.
