still looking at way to open the hood on the excursion i am building
almost all the fiber glass work is done and it pulls open easy enough, but its a show truck so we can put any latches on the outside, so finding a good way to keep it down will be a challenge

THe H2's, mabey it was an H3, had a latch on the inside of the truck towards the center, that went through the firewall and latched to some underpinnings of the hood.
But I think that was more of a security thing, the brute holding power was done with the outside latches like I have (my latches are H2 latches). You might be able to do 2 of them though, one on each side.

Or if you re-inforce the wheel wells a little, you could latch them in the wells.

I want that damn clamshell, but think it would be cheaper to buy fenders and hood from somewhere else and fiberglass them together myself...
