Finally... my 5.3 swap

Sweet! And no, I was using a 3/8 drive ratchet and never even had to use the handle when pulling them together. I think I'll be okay.... but hell a pump rebuild kit is $40, cheap insurance.

You live and learn I reckon, thanks guys! [emoji122]

Well just to give y'all an update.

Inspected the trans pump and I did no damage. Properly installed torque converter and got the motor/trans back in the truck.

Finished the fuel system last night. Tonight's agenda is to button up the harness and fuse block, as well as a few other odds and ends.

My tuner is coming out to tune it tomorrow evening so hopefully I'll have a running truck tomorrow night. Then its off to exhaust shop friday!

I'm stoked [emoji41]

If the wiring intimidates you there is nothing to worry about. I had it done in one afternoon. Read everything there is on LT1SWAP.com, you'll be set. [emoji1]

The fuel injection was the main reason i did this swap for me. Between the mileage and the smooth power it can't be beat.

Well guys I've hit a snag.

Got everything wired up and and the motor turns over but won't start. I have verified grounds as well as power the injectors and coils. I know injectors are spraying because of aspirated fuel coming out of exhaust. From what I can tell, I have no spark, pulled spark plug, grounded plug and turned the motor over... no spark.

Grounds are good, two at back of intake, one at acc. Bracket, and another at PCM.

I am not sure where to continue at this point.

I used the old heavy pink coil wire the trigger my ign. Relays so I assume it is supplying correct voltage.

Any ideas?[emoji45]

She is alive!

.....well for a few seconds.

I cleaned the grounds and went back over my connections, as well as holding the accelerator pedal to the floor while cranking.

Tuner is coming Thursday since he couldn't make it last week. I am so ready! [emoji1]

So are you to the point where you can start it over and over fura dfew seconds at a time? If so you should be golden cause that's just the vats kicking in.

Yep she'll bust off for a couple seconds everytime you turn the key.

I am going to get the core support back on tonight and cooling system done ao I can take her for a spin once its tuned [emoji6]

Well she is tuned and running! My tuner did all of the typical stuff like vats and emissions disable as well as speedo calibration. Torque management disabled as well as pedal delay. I'll say it sounds wicked with open manifolds! I plan on having a full performance tune done once everything is dialed in.

I plan to get the core support back in and cooling system completed tomorrow.

I have already repinned my gauge cluster since i converted to a electric speedo so that is ready to go in.

Hoping to have it drivable by the end of the weekend!
