Finished Aux Lights Fuse & Switch panels (PICS)

WOW! /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
Man you make mee feel really bad about my rats nest in my truck.

See I just had my self talked out of a rack on the K5. I want to do one on the Burb I get and I want a BIG rack. Buliding out the ultimate tow rig for the Airstream. I plan to use the rack for Bikes when traveling and a place to throw wet stuff on the way from the beach. Just need to get the Burb /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
Looks really good. Nice work.

Thanks Grim!

That Burb (when ya get it)is gonna be a monster! And you do have that AIRSTREAM already...the cause of my very green envy!

Gonna clean everything up this weekend (I hope) and maybe get the rock lights hooked up and the kill switch deal installed. Otherwise will have to wait for a week, have to fly to NY on biz this coming Monday and won't be back til late Friday night. I'll fab up the cover for all that wiring when I get back home.

Nice work skigirl! Now i have someone to blame for my sudden wiring kick...lol. You see i do this for a living...just ask Bad Dog...so i don't usually find the time to work on my own stuff..nor do i want to sometimes.

As Bad Dog was saying...bulk head connectors are your friend...what most people don't realize is the old school connectors (series 56) as found on older carb'd rigs...looks like a/c clutch connector...are not the same as the fuse block ie: BH (bulk head connector)...the BH uses 59 series terminals...so you can add circuits in empty cavities within the BH connectors...and remember to figure the load of the new circuit...all circuits are designed to be rated at 66% of the fuse rating...so there is room for boo boos.

Also..ava online at www.delphiauto.com...is the complete delphi connector catalog...downloadable in PDF format...I'll take some notes out of my catalog at the shop tomorrow to bring up some cool solutions...such as a circuit bus...

Great info Doug! Wish you lived closer - I'd make sure you never had time for your own rig /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I learn something new every day here. Kinda cool what the wiring setup allows us to modify. Thanks for adding to my knowledge base!

I love catalogs like that. More stuff to get... /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

BTW...noticed the tuffy console...installed mine last night...CB tonight..along with Cobra ext. speaker...haven't wired in the stereo as of yet...time...lol. Had a 1990 pete with an old 3406B PEEC garnishing most of my attention for the last two days...electrical gremlins...in finally won the battle tonight...ohm meters are our friends..lol.

Doug - Yea, I installed the Tuffy a while back. Have my ham radio in the front. Stereo is in dash with removeable faceplate, CB is next to stereo under dash, but it's small (Uniden 520 pro xl) and has disconnects to remove and store in the main compartment of the Tuffy. Have a dual band antenna on the cab top, wilson 5000 front pass fender and an auto tuning HF in the rear (bumper mount). I wired all that stuff up too.

Never ends I guess.

Outsider: Well, it'll be coming off as soon as I finish up installing the kill switch deal, cuz I'm going to replace the weatherstrip and durabak it (and the rest of the exterior). Then it'll come off again to get the cage fitted.

Then it may never come off after that - mostly I intend to drive it in winter, to places with snow. If I drive it in L.A., I want it locked up so I won't leave it around with the top off. Mostly I want versatility in case I ever do want to spontaneously go topless *insert witty but not-so-obvious retorts here* /forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif

Well I just found an add for another Airstream for $750. it's a 26 ft no year but my guess is it is a late 60's Overlander. Said solid floor but interriror needs to be redone Going to try to go look at it this weekend. It might have the parts I need for the 59 (RV fridge, water heater, A.C., front and rear windows) if it has a solid floor and most of the interior then I'll buy it and just resell it or fix it up and resell it for a Lot of $$$$$$ /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Now where too put another camper if this is worth getting......Uhhhhh Mom mind if I park something next to your house for a little while? LOL.
