First Gen, all hardware no software

So I bought this '70 K5 and fell in the rabbit hole ever since. It was tired, a victim of someone's "perfume on a pig" restoration. Original 350/350.Paint is nice.
Are those 16inch fans? Be curious to see if they keep it kool
I believe they are 16". So far I've only put about 80 miles on them in 90+deg heat I had to turn them off to let the new engine warm up so the efi would loop. Stock rad.

ORD output bearing support and high angle drive flange going on! Also resealed the figure 8 transmission adapter so I can stop filling the tcase with fluid. :waytogo:

I hope that you have better luck with stopping the oil transfer. My '70 has a case from a '72 K5, and even after replacing the parts twice, I still get trans oil into the 205....

I hope so too! My seals and o ring were in good shape and the shafts aren't worn I have fingers crossed that it was my tired ass th350 that was pushing the fluid through for one reason or another. I hope to have that back in a week. I did push the adapter shaft in as far as possible in hopes that the oring would sit right. Well see

Exhaust is done. I put some lava mat on the firewall we'll see how it holds up and if it works:weapon11:

Got the rear buttoned up and just picked up my trans from rebuild. Inner fenders are trimmed around the fender well headers as well and I painted them with spray on bed liner.
It has a little Cali squat now that I removed my helper leafs in the rear but I'll take it!

So it's been a long week. Driveline is finally buttoned up and I took it for a brief shakedown. New trans and converter feel kinda tight. Traction bar makes for an entirely different feel but it seems to plant better. Love the new bilstien shocks!

Now I'm chasing down the buckets of oil leaking from the passenger valve cover that's broken from the flange

What's the traction bar doing that feels different?

Does it make the truck "stand up" under power...? Lean harder to one side under heavy throttle? :dunno:

It seems to stand up and have an overall firmer feel. There's no laziness to the suspension now at all but I also added the shocks which I'm sure are adding to the stiffness. I like a more positive feel

Kinda weird geometry on the cable shift linkage eh?

Looks bitchin :saweet:
thanks @skunked ! Yes the geometry still needs some work lol it's on the cut list for today as well as dropping one of the old tin valve covers on to contain some oil while I figure out what covers I want to order

What brand shift linkage is that? I had an issue with the Winters hardware for my th400, turns out the directions for the shift linkage arm were ass backwards.

Its lokar. Still a little misleading but after a couple tries I got it now just the fender well is causing some binding but it does work just stiff supposedly it will work with aftermarket shifters as well bc it has to locations on the trans shift arm
