First Impressions of Hydroboost

On the factory setups, is the pedal assembly different between vac brakes & hydroboost?

I just measured the differance between a vac and a juice pedal assembly. There is a difference in the length between the pivot bolt and the pushrod pin on the pedal. 3.5" on the vac and 2.5" on the juice. The pin that holds the pushrod is also different; 1/2" on the vac and 9/16 on the juice.

Interesting, I may haveto add something to my junkyard list lol. I didnt know about the calipers and wheel cylinders, since I have read that vac boosters have line pressures of 7-900psi, and hydr assist have 1200+

how much was it for ur aftermarket set up broc? im swappin in a 6.2 soon so im going hydroboost anyways. seein the other options as well :)

Total was 844.78. That includes the braided stainless lines. hydro unit, new master cylinder and custom mount, pedal linkage, and all needed hardware. It is show quality, not that it matters. This is not just a off the shelf unit, Hydratech modifies them to your particular setup.

I know this sounds like a lot of cash, and it is. But it bolted right in. the mount is made for your particular application, the linkage matches right up. All the hassle has been figured out.

Hydratech told me mine runs 2300psi. I wanted to run pressure gauges, this is how I know what the system runs.

They told me if I do use gauges make sure that they are at least 2500psi rated, and even then it was risky. Not a very big selection of gauges with that kind of rating out there.

I would suspect that the pressure readings are probably about average for a hydroboost set up.

Hey GMC, are you going to post some pics up of the pedals? Maybe a new post?

My pedal mounted right up with no problem I think it depends on the year of the truck. Also I have no issues with stopping power either other than the rears lock up but I think I determined I hooked the lines on the MC up backwards:doah: .
