He used a bobcat with the auger attachment...and done in about an hour with the holes....then mixed the concrete by hand for the footings...we dumped the bags in his bobcat bucket, mixed em up half assed and dumped them in the holes, the powder left from the still somewhat dry mix helps to coat the wall of the hole so it firms up a bit and not as likely to cave in. Should get the poles planted yet this week and concreted in place.
Brett, my township specifies the hole sizes depending on span and height of the building, hence 19" dia. x 42" deep with the 10" footings. Not sure if those premade forms would pass their "rules"

You know it's sad that when you get this shop done you'll have almost as much square feet of shop/garage space with all 3 together, as I have for square feet of my entire LOT. Lol.... I need a new place :doah:

It's gonna be awesome....:thumb:

I was wondering if your going to partition off the rentable space area so that it's separate air space from the main shop.... hate to rent it out then cover their stuff in metal dust or something from the work area ......

Yes Rick
Plans are in the works for a partition wall with a service door and an overhead as well
We will be insulating with spray foam once the girts are up we will wrap with barrier wrap, put on the siding and foam the walls.

Dang Dave doin it right.

Most excellent

So the rain has raised hell lately, the driveway runoff ended up in some of the holes....along with a bunch of sand

Bumber. How soon are you gonna be filling the holes for good?

the poles will be set on top of the 18"w x 10"deep footings at the bottom of the hole.....we just have to dig em out to uncover them now. Once the poles are in place and braced square/plumb the rest of the hole gets filled in with more concrete. Once they are all in place, the poles will then have a 12" skirt boards around the perimeter that will act as a form for the concrete floor. each pole will have a rebar drilled into it to anchor in the floor as well.

So...my question was how soon you'll have this all done.

Rainy season is here and snow is coming soon!

Used a shovel, post hole diggers, then a shop vac to clean out the filled in holes, (6 of them) other holes didn't have enough to worry about. The rain quit by noon today so we got almost half of the poles planted today. Hopefully the rain holds off tomorrow for getting the rest of them in the ground.
