um yeah........... $1500 into my Paypal it will be there in the morning. I will even drive it there.
Plenty of blocks up here. I think there are 20 some in my grandmas garage....my dad, uncle and I have been pulling engines out of cars since they were in high school and I was old enough to hold a wrench.
Worst case scenario I’ll pull one of those to get fixed up. Ill have it clearanced for the crank and get new pistons. I’ll see what my cousin says about this cylinder bore first. Might be savable but it’s borderline.
Month long job just got even longer.
Usually how it goes though. One thing leads to another on vehicles. It never fails. What could have been a weekend job turned into a couple months minimum.
I’m not trusting craigslist engines. I’ll just build it myself so I know it was done right. It’s just coming to terms with the fact I won’t be driving my truck for a while.... that reality is setting in and I really don’t like it.
However, once this is done, it’ll be good for a long—long time.

Yep, that’s the way she goes. I still got it for a good deal. Even without an engine it would have been hard to find one in this nice of shape for $2800
Had my cousin look over that cylinder. He said get a new block or clearance an old one. That cylinder can’t be saved. Well I’m going to the drawing board for this one.
I’ll keep this crank, heads, intake, carb and distributor for the build. The wife gave me the go ahead and even on her birthday lol
