For those who wondered what happen to the 2500 suburban

did i read correctly? you did a 4" body lift?

Yes, the body is raised so we can drop the floor on the drivers side. This will allow me to get on the wheelchair lift, slide in under the steering wheel and drive from my wheelchair without being too tall to look out the windshield. These are the only pictures for now but if you're interested goshichi.com has pictures of the lift in pickups. Thanks for the compliments I'm pretty happy with how it's looking and getting pretty anxious about driving it.

Trucks been working good. I really like the solid feel of things compared to my old Yukon swaying around. I really have no regrets with the 2500 version. Milage maybe better with a half ton but believe it or not it's better than my Yukon was. I've been driving if for almost a year and a half and it has over 26,000 miles on it hoping to get atleast 200,000.

That wheelchair lift is really cool! I've never seen one on any vehicle other than conversion vans where you'd enter from the back passenger side.

Really nice looking burb!

Truck looks great :waytogo:
I saw it in the background of the pics of the K5 (bumper pictures) and was wondering how the doors/ lift worked :dunno: , now it makes sense!

As for hoping it will last, I know it's apples and oranges, but we have 2 older 2500's (02&03 trucks) both easily broke 300k with no real problems, just sold the 03 to an employee with 382,000 on it, still runs and drives great :D

Extra cool points if you can make it play Transformers sounds when the door swings open.

I so love the look of that truck

Bringing this back up for a little update.. I have 57000 miles on the truck and no regrets. This is the first 3/4 ton I have owned and it feels a lot better driving with the added Wheelchair lift than anything I drove before. Now MPG's are not great but better than the 5.3 Yukon ever was. I recently made a change. I never liked my rims with this truck (a little to bLing for my liking) so I sold the old set with 5000 miles of tire wear or so remaining and bought some H2 rims cheap and new tires. This is the look now. Oh and I saved about $50 a tire by going to 17" rims.

I did not realize the 2011-2013 2500 suburbans kept the 8 on 6.5" wheel bolt pattern. I assumed they went to the 8 on 180mm like the 2500HD's. I looked up the brake rotors for them and sure enough they are 8 on 6.5". I guess they quit making the 2500 suburban in 2014?

I'm usually not a fan of that rim, but they look very good on that rig... good job! :waytogo:

Yea the suburbans didn't go to the new hub until 2012 that is why I had the after market rim. They wouldn't put a 2010 aluminum rim on my 11' suburban. I'm feeling pretty good about this setup now. The other rims where not holding up well.

Edit: I guess after reading your post maybe they never did put the new hub on the suburbans.

Looks real good Tony...glad to hear your pleased with it overall, they did a nice job putting that lift in and the fit and finish of the slider is dam nice.

Thanks. I was a little nervous about doing it but I liked it as soon as I seen it coming together.

Looks way better! :thumb: Did they reprogram the tire pressure sensors? So left front is actually left front!!:haha::haha:

Very nice! Did you have to modify those center caps to fit the wheels?

:haha: Yea for now Right Front is actually Right Front. I can't make any promises on how long that will last but right now I actually will know what tire is low or .....being aired up.
