i may sound retarded for asking this... but how much is a ford dana 60 worth?
i found one on craigslist for 200 n was thinkin bout buyin it to turn a profit
worth my time or no?
thanks

rick

nope not worth your time, but where is it at anyway?

I just sold one with the whole truck for $1500, $800 to $1000 is about the going rate.

the ford has a driver drop doesnt it? its a 1970 f250 camper axle... would i be able to make it work for my 76 blazer w/o alllota S@#^ to deal with?

Hey both F250 that I have owned had 60 in the front, but then another that I bought had a 44. From what I have been able to determine in my very limited Ford knowledge if it was a standard cab it was a 44 extended cab 60

You nailed it!!! A 4x4 camper would be a keeper.

the camper special's and the snow fighter F-250's had the HP60 but they where only two years 78/79, then ford went to the TTB 50 till 85 or 86 then back to the HP60 but only in the F-350. i did find a 77 with a HP60 front and a divorced 205 ( camper special ) but the build date was 11-77 so my guess would be the last months of 77 you could get one.

before 78 ( or late 77 ) they where low pinion dana 60 but with 30 spline inners and ( i think ) 19 spline outers and only in the F-350, i picked up a 76 cause it had a divorced 203 and i noticed the front ( LP60 ) when we got it back to the shop, i sold it cheap but kinda wished i held onto it.

the other odd ball 60 i got was from a 75 or 76 IH ( no paper work ) it had 4.56 gears and was open knuckles, looked just like a chevy or dodge and i thought maybe somone put it in there but after looking thru the 60 bible on pirate they did come thru with them in one of the two years, jason.

It's a rear axle... and likely 16 spline.

77.5-79 and 85.5-96 were the kingpin disc brake Dana 60s Ford used.

You definitely don't want one before 77.5.

its a 1970...they didnt make 60's in 70. or at least i dont think they did, what was the offical year? im pretty sure it was early 70's

'73 is 1st year for a Ford D60 front iirc.

Rear... well... at least since the late 50's.

Slight hijack - but since we are on the topic of first years for D60's . What year did Dodge first start using an open knuckle D60 - is it 1974 ????

Thanks Tom
