Found the wheelsI want.

I’m gathering it’s best to let these go and just save up for 17’ wheels and new tires?

Why is everyone to against 16.5 wheels? What am I missing here?
Mostly they don't have the safety bead and they are just hard to find tires for.
And if you find tires the options are very limited and/or expensive.

Im not against them however they’re worth less given the tire availability.

most major tire manufactures have quit making 16.5 tires. you can go with Interco or Pitbull to name a couple but they are more dedicated wheeling tires. Toyo, Nitto, BFG, Goodyear, Firestone, ect mainly quit making 16.5 tires

So safety and availability, fair enough.

Thanks, sure glad I posted this question, my eyes were doing the thinking. I’ll let them pass. Honestly, I don’t feel like cleaning and polishing up wheels anyway.

Thanks again.

I’ll just keep saving for 17x10 8 lug Indy U101... which is what I really want. 4 tires is, $1,025 yeesh.

Lack of tire choices and no safety bead on the rim to retain the tire.

Something I am bad about when buying used wheels/tires is factoring in mounting/dismounting/balancing costs. Around here that could be $80-120 for 4, + tire disposal fee + your time!

Yeah they would need to pay me to take 16.5 dia wheels. Firestone has a highway tire for motor homes in 16.5, 1 or 2 sizes only. Interco has them, and Hummer take offs.

I told the guy no thanks. I’ll just save up for the mags I want. That will just take a lot longer, wheels and tires are not cheap for these trucks

Perspective my man. Proper wheels and tires average price depending on what you want. Going bro-dozer with 24" wheels and useless super low profile mud-terrains are expensive.

17" wheel and tires under 37" should be very competitive on price depending on what brand you want. 17" is probably the most common size on truck wheels with the late model units running around. That's where the options are compared to 16" and 15" wheel sizes.

I agree.
The wheels I’m after are $1,025...
For tires at 37x12.5x17
There is seemingly endless options.

I need tires for street and the Arizona desert.

I’m open to any suggestions, or recommendations based on what others have driven on.

Toyo. Nitto, or BFG AT.....

I've had all three, and one thing I won't cheap out on if I can help it is tires. I sell a metric ass load of tires every day, and out of every brand I sell, I have the best luck with those three. And almost all of them are plus size fitments.

Man,
$1,025 wheels
$1,485 tires
Probably $80 a tire to mount and balance?

Good grief....

try Discount tire direct if you buy tire wheel package will arrive mounted and balanced hq in AZ
