Frankenliner build thread. Up for sale.

Sorry. Only one picture. Got cold and dark in a hurry. This is from Sunday.

Now the deck ramps are done and the fold down ramps are almost on. I will try to remember pictures tomorrow. I get tired, cold and hungry, so I head home and forget to take pictures.

Oh my.... This ought to be interesting, and $$$$$. It's hard enough keeping these things on the road when they make you money! Subscribed, if you need any advice on big rigs feel free to ask, I had some really great mentors, and I still learned most things the hard way.

So I suck at build threads

Wife and I left today at 10:30 for Arizona.

I promise to get pictures.

Got the hydrolics done enough. Had to temp 2 rams to get my wife's car on. It high centered on the ramp. Lift the front higher problem solved.

Ramps would not fold up. Wife's car is 1 foot longer than the Jimmy that the build was designed for. Had to notch the mounts to be able to remove the ramps.

Car would not let the rig turn sharp enough. Moved the car to within 3" of the cab. Has not hit and enough of a turning radius.

We are in a RV park west of Albuquerque N.M. Will hit the road in the AM and try to beat the weather.

Made it to Lake Havasu. Trailer and rear truck blinkers are screwed up now. They sometimes blink opposite of hat they should. PTO will not engage so I can not get the Trailblazer off. I'll mess with it in the morning.

And get pictures.

Man I wish you guys well. I stopped by to see yiu a few times but kept missing you.

If you need anything let me know.

I'll prob grab that scrap behind your shop too if yiu don't mind

Here are some pictures.

Ramps down. Did not get a picture with the deck raised to get the car to clear the hinge point at the top of the fixed ramps. But I assure you, it backed right off.

A couple more.

The rig as it goes down the road.

Getting a pull. Parked it with the rear axles in a depression. After 6 hours of snow driving I did not notice it. The bags settled and put the hitch on the ground. New design in March when I get back to Co.
So much for trying to use what was there.

Yes. Wife will have something smaller. It will go over the cab. The Jimmy is 1 foot shooter in length than the trail blazer and will sit lower on the deck when it is done.

Wow, good work. Glad you made it.

Your a mad man.

Bummer about that rear overhang. You would have thought it was on there for so long it wouldn't matter.

Are those worn out recaps on the rear drive axle? If so, do yourself a favor and get rid of them ASAP! I've had recaps bend and actually tear heavy steel C-channel cross-members on a flatbed when they blow, I can't imagine the damage one would do to that beautiful 5th wheel camper you have... The company I run for no longer runs caps for this reason, we'd save $80 a tire, but spend hundreds in road service calls and repairing damage.

Very sweet setup you have there by the way!

If you ever get hung up like that again, try unhooking the control arm for the air suspension. Move it until it overfills the suspension enough to lift the hitch off the ground, lock your rears and drive out of it. May have to get creative to hold the control arm just right, bit much easier than getting a tow. Reattach the control arm and done!
