Frankenliner build thread. Up for sale.

After many short moments of analizing, I found the splitter is not engaging. To pull the housing I had to drain the fluid.

It was nice and shiny. The the roof of a Lowrider.

And these were stuck to the magnetic plug.

Looks like a small bearing that fell apart.
I wonder if it's in the splitter.
You might just need that replaced.
I say go to a builder and have them open it and diagnose.
I did that on mine but turned out it was too far gone to rebuild.
I couldn't tell, it was still driving fine.
:dunno:

I'm going to call bull crap on it having under 100k miles on it. With the oil draining as a shiny mess, I'm just going rebuilt.

Unless you ruined the main shaft or counter shafts having it rebuilt might be cheaper but it's a toss up between that and a reman. It would have to be tore down to see what it needs. We used to get our remans when I worked at the IH dealer from Weller in SLC.

That sucks but they do good quality work from what I've seen from their SLC location. Just going back in with the same one to avoid additional work?

Yes. It moves it just fine. They said I have a 2 year, unlimited milage warranty. I laughed. He asked what was funny. I told him it is going in my RV that only gets a couple yhoustho a year. In an RV, he asked. Then I explained to him what it was. Asked me to return the receipt email with a picture of it.

How's your clutch and don't forget cross shafts and bushings and clutch fork and clutch brake if you have to swap over your bellhousing. If it comes with one it should have bushings in it but you will probably need cross shafts and a clutch fork and clutch brake and maybe a shift tower gasket at a minimum. Oh and a bunch of oil and a bucket pump.

Was rebuilding an old 1600 pound transmission jack. Could not get a wheel to free up and would have to do a porta power ram and mount. Geometery changed too much. So I bought the HF 2000 pound transmission jack. Took it out of the box and started throwing things away. Built a 3/8 inch thick plate that bolts to the jack plate and made brackets to mount the transmission to that plate. Also added welds to the jack its self.

People suck. There are so many foul words going through my head right now.

I have 4 people that I have helped out on stuff recently who said they would "make the time when I needed it" to help pull the transmission. Texted all 4 yesterday that I will be pulling it Saturday.

Not a single one can help. "Make time" my ass. Pricks. No more help or answering questions for them. You have no idea how pissed off I am. Not throwing tools, because then I have to pick them up. But I would like too.

One idiot, who's trailer hubs I took apart at 5am this morning so I could get parts and get it back together tomorrow night, told me his wife had a deal in Denver he has to go to. So Eileen asks her to lunch Saturday. She said sure. Probably will not be doing lunch after I dump his tandem axle trailer off with no brake parts on it and just 2 hubs on one axle dry. I am not finishing it and he is getting a bill for the time I already spent on it. Unfricken real. Known the guy for 6 years. We have wheeled together a lot.

So now I am down to pulling a 700 pound transmission by myself as my wife watches. Somebody has to call the life insurance guy when I die.

I’m obligated this weekend, but can come down next Saturday if you need
