From 700r4 to nv4500 Questions.

I actually have an aftermarket TPI setup that I plan to fit to a 400 small block in the future! Soooo right now all I need is tranny stuff

I work at Oreilly's on the weekends so that will help. I've found a guy with a wrecked 95 Chevy. 4x4 with a 350 and nv4500. There's access to most of the parts I may need and some that I don't. If I can get a price on a mass of parts then I may come out alright. The blazer still has the clutch pedal in it. However, I would prefer a hydraulic clutch setup if it's not too much work.

The clutch might be tricky if you are using the stock pedal. I had to make a custom pushrod system to activate the master. You also might check where the existing slave cylinder sits in relation to your front axle housing. The external slave cylinder on the stock bell-housing sat really low and was pretty close to hitting, even though I have a 4" lift. Internal slave may not be a big deal.

I'll probably see about snagging the clutch related items and whatever I don't use will just be extra parts. I'm sure there will be plenty of smaller obstacles to overcome throughout the process

If you are going to run the hydro clutch then just retrofit the 95 clutch master and slave in. You can use a 9/16" bolt installed into the clutch pedal to slip the master cylinder ring over and secure it with a cotter pin.

That solves your bellhousing issue too.

Hey Russ, you've done this successfully? I'm looking for solutions for my nv4500 swap, was going to go the route of getting a hydraulic line made to adapt old master and new slave but if i can use your suggestion then all the better.
