If you move it forward and have stock style push pull setup up you just have to shorten it up. Sometimes you need to cut the threads shorter on the drag link ends to get it short enough overall. Too short will also cause worse bunpsteer issues. Crossover should be ok unless you get interference with draglink and other parts like tie rod or what not.
When I went 1" forward I was able to make the stock draglink work, but it couldn't adjust much shorter. Drove that way for a while before going crossover and can't remember the steering acting much different than axle in the stock location.
