Front Leaf Spring Questions (factory springs K5 Blazer)...

Is the interference due to the newer motor design, sagging springs, or both?

Let us know how those springs work out. I spoke with Eaton awhile back about springs, they seemed quite knowledgeable and I think dialing in the spring rate is completely doable if you can weigh the front end.

I totally hear what you are saying... A 2" lift would be awesome.com. However, I've been done that road before, and it's a slippery slope. First off, I only have about 2" inches of clearance into my carport now (old low ceiling carport), and a lift would limit me on where I park at home. Also, before you know it you need a dropped pitman arm because the geometry has changed. You'll also see other steering parts rubbing due to geometry changes. Before you know it, you need to extend the brake lines, shocks, and drive shafts to get full articulation over rough terrain. Plus I'll have to listen to my wife b*tch about how tall the truck is with a lift kit. It's just makes my life easier to keep it at stock height.

That's true. Although the benefit of two inches of lift is that you generally avoid all the problems associated with steering geometry, brake lines, shocks, etc.

I would recommend ordering the three pack instead of the two pack.

I'll definitely order the 3 pack. Will my shock mount plate and everything else mount up to the 3 pack the same as my current 2 pack?

I ordered two new leaf springs for the front of my Blazer (stock height, 3 leaf) and made plans to install them as soon as they arrived. I was just able to install them yesterday, and wow what a difference they made. I didn't realize how worn out the originals 2 leafs were until I installed the new 3 leafs. I gained about 1/2" of height too. My differential and oil pan have plenty of clearance now, and the stiffer springs should help prevent them from touching each other. Guess I'll need to plan for swapping out the rear springs when time and money allow.
