I guess they're ok. The front suspension has literally been so stiff they haven't moved more than an inch or two in either direction. I'll see how stuff feels tomorrow night after I get some new u-bolts and get it all buttoned up after work.

Okey dokey here's where I'm at as far as this little project goes...

I got it all back together today since I was able to get some fresh u-bolts this morning before work and I have to say I'm happy with how it turned out BUT I will definitely have to get some stuff taken care of before our next trip.

First and foremost I think I'll order another set of Ford towers to put up front since as it sits now there is only about 2" of shaft showing (they're 14" travel shocks) so I'll basically leave everything the same except bolt the Ford towers in place to get a little more up travel out of them.
Next is the front d-shaft... I think I'll pull the d-shaft spacer (which probably wouldn't be a bad thing anyways... my front output on the TC is leaking like crazy and I'm thinking the extra leverage of the spacer might have something to do with it). As it sits now I think I'd bottom it out on a hard landing.
Finally is the most obvious issue... the fenders. I hate to say it but I think they'll be getting a trim. The front will probably be ok but the back of the fender is definitely going to hit so I'll have to deal with that.

I could lift it back up a bit but I think the extra work to keep it low is going to be a good thing.... even in the dunes sometimes my high COG was a problem so I can only imagine how much it'll help on the rocks to keep it low.

Ok here's some pics...

Oh, forgot to mention this but the last picture reminded me.... it does sit a little high in the back but I had my dad stand on it between the towers on the rear and it just about sat level so we're thinking after I mount up my fullsize spare, a toolbox full of stuff and the weight of tubing for the cage it'll be perfect. For now... well I guess I'll just run a little high in the rear. :)

Nice work.

Be careful though, you already took the bedsides off. A little trim here or there is going to be a slippery slope.....

I know... but I can't sell the bed to save my life so I'm thinking about cutting the sides out of it and bolting them back on over my cage once it's done.... kind of pre-runner style. :)
Up front I'd like to get some fiberglass fenders with a built in buldge and ditch the inner fenderwells but I figure I'll tear these ones up first.

please dont cut up that bed its to nice . just go get you a set of bedsides of junkyard trcuk

or get a set of cheapy aftermarket bedsides

Then come get it out of the side of my house! I've got it all wrapped up and on dollies ready to go. :)
Seriously though I can't sell it and I refuse to give it away. The only serious offer I've got was for like $200 and I may be wrong but I think that's too low. For that much I'd rather keep it, slice out what I want and put it back on the truck.

well when I sell beds in MN I charge 500 if its complete and dent free. 200.00 in Cali isn't to bad Just saying a couple of Taiwan bedsides is better than cutting up a good bed. there not building these trucks anymore it really bums me out to see nice stright trucks cut up and beat on,

Kinda a pet Peeve of mine whne guys start with a nice clean truck and then turn it into a rolling dent . why not just start with a beater. oh and Parting out Nice K30's for there axles bugs me too LOL rant over sorry

I see what you're saying but around here they're a dime a dozen. Plus why start with a pile of crap just to fix it all in the process of your build? Starting with a nice truck sure makes the build-up go smoother... :D
If I could get $350 for it I'd let it go but otherwise it's not worth selling it.

becarefull you don't bottom your shocks out, you don't have much up travel left, and with those softened springs it won't take much.

Cut that junk up man. I used to have the bedsides on mine. They were the ones that would swing in and out. That ended up with me just hitting them anyway so I pulled them(while they were still nice) off so I could mount them exactly as you propose.

*Hi-Jack*

Oh man, do I agree with that!!!!:D
Sorry for the Hi-Jack, all done now;)

Yeah that's why I said I was going to get some Ford towers and move them up... I don't daily drive the k10 so it'll just sit until I get the shocks moved.

Very true. I would kill to have a truck with as clean of metal as you have. I will say it again, don't cut the fenders. I know it will happen anyway to everyone i say it to but I have to keep saying it.

for the leafs i would pull first and third starting from bottom. this is was i did on my 6" and i added an ooober long one from my thinnned out rear pack....its rides soft smooth and flexs great....

So you'd rather I just go out and let the tires beat the heck out of the fenders and at the same time cut up my half way decent TSL's?
I understand where you east coast guys are coming from but you have to understand cutting is better than doing nothing in this situation.

I say cut the fronts until your hearts content. its just cutting up a solid short bed that I have the issue with
