gas gage fix

I had the same problem with mine it wouldnt go below half tank and would fill to way above full when i pulled my tank and replaced the fuel pump the float arm had broken off and was just kind of tangled up in everything

Sunnuvab!tch. I unplugged my sending unit and hooked up the jumper like it said and the gage went to half a tank (never does that normally) so I hooked it back up and looked for the harness plug like the next step said. I couldnt see it from inside the truck so I pulled the gage and tightened the hell out of the resistor nuts on the back. Put the gage back in and turned the key. The needle went up just past half a tank and set there. I was happy. I think thats about how much gas I have so I put everything back together and it goes back to normal. Damnit.

I dont think its the gage. I have tried a different one but I suppose it could have been bad too. According to that write up my sending unit is good so at least I can mark that off the suspect list. If I just run another wire directly from the sending unit to the back of the gage will it work?
