watched a vid on a charger install and the guy used this style fuel line.(link below) no i wont be using steel in the fuel lines like he did ill nuy the right stuff.
what do you guys think? will it hold up to the wheeling/mudding? as long as I secure the line fittings and such I dont see a problem and it is half the cost of buying the other fuel pump kit from fitech.

I wont be able to afford this until November(have to save my pennies) but it should bring my blazer up to the way I want it to run.

I'd be far more inclined to run an EFI K5 tank with the in-tank (EP381 IIRC) pump, but I have no idea how you'd attach the plastic hose to the steel tank fittings. I see the hose connectors are supposed to use a special tool for install, if it's anything like what my buddy uses for plumbing with plastic hose, it's not cheap. Check into that first. I'd be much more worried about the fittings than the line itself.

If the OEM's use plastic line, there is no reason you can't. As you state, it's a matter of securing it properly. I might even go so far as to take the split wire loom (what GM used to protect wiring on the trucks) of proper diameter and encase the line with it and zip tie every foot or so. You'd need to worry less about abrasion that way. I've not seen how modern vehicles run fuel line, I would think it would need to a lot of support, or be under tension to keep from moving around a bit. Wire loom would also allow you to use solid hose to frame attachment brackets instead of trying to find rubber/insulated ones.

I wouldn't run that setup, fuel lines aren't something you want to fail.

Get a TBI tank and run the Delco 381 pump as mentioned already. There are a couple metric conversion fittings you'll need at the sending unit to convert to -6an, those have been documented in several build threads including @wetoolowdingbangow @K85 Octane @Kay86K5 and mine. FiTech makes a specific 30 micron filter for $25 that is -6an in and out. Lot's of options for the line itself, you can run hardline, steel braided, push lock etc.

I agree. I would run steel/steel braided line only. Fuel pressurized at 60psi is far more of a hazard then 8psi when it cracks.

I can post all the parts ive bought if you want. Ive probably spent $200 for just the fittings and line but its safe and top notch. Im sure regular steel line is much cheaper.

I haven't added up my fuel delivery parts yet but I'm probably $200sh with fittings, filter and the hardline (3/8" feed & 5/16" return)

ya im leaning toward getting the other line kit from fitech comes with everything, and just be done with it

really dont want to switch tanks but ill look into the builds for info

We're waiting on that kit for my Dad's El Camino, been back ordered for a few weeks now but I should have some feedback on it by mid September.

The EFI kit's are mostly caught up, doesn't matter where you live. Some accessories are still back ordered. Look at the ship date for the pump and fuel line kit, it notes a 9/8/16 ship date, it's said that for the last month.

It took me 2 months i think. Its better now.

There a smaller company who didnt fully anticipate the success of what they created. They also dyno every unit so that takes time as well but you end up with a working product....

Instead of that $78 I'd start considering the Mastercool 71475 http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mastercool-...ewItem&hash=item541c351012:g:7DQAAOxy63FSrLUA

Yeah, it's just under $300, but it will make Saginaw flares (no adapters, stock fuel filter) and probably flare whatever is needed for the LS end.

Not to mention, it will make proper brake flares, if those are in the future. Certainly quite a bit more, but useful more than once, IF you would have need for it later.

Buddies tool for plastic tubing is electric, but probably same idea.

I'm probably archaic in my thinking, but I don't like playing with the fuel system. I prefer zero adapters, and the fewest connections necessary. Compression fittings don't *seem* like a good idea either, but that isn't experience speaking. However, I've never had nor seen a factory fuel setup catch fire.

I bought my tank and sending unit on Rockauto. Make sure the tank size (two sizes available) and sending unit match each other.

might just get efi use existing tank and change at a later date when i can afford the extra cost
