Also Shame on you guys who say use the lounge what are you 14 years old? This person is asking for your help and you play that card.

That dog just aint gonna hunt!

No, They just have a computer. That automaticly makes everyone a know-it-all (including me) :haha:

Have checked out a few stick traps allready, the one you provided does say Recluse/hobo. So will do some research on it =). I think to solve the trucks problem im just going to toss a bug bomb in every month.

May set those traps inside though, Damn thing almost crawled accross my toes...

And for those of you who dont know how bad recluses are,
brown-recluse-spider-4.jpg
Imagine that crawling accross your toes.

And immagine this resulting
hxxp://www.archaeologyfieldwork.com/images/healthandsafety/day10brownrecluse.jpg (graphic..may want to cover the young ones eyes), Thats the result of a recluse spider bite.

My grandpa got bit by one of those a few years ago and had to go to the hospital for a few weeks and his leg pretty much just melted away. now he has to use a cane to walk because the bit ate away at his calf muscle and his one leg isn't as strong as the other one. I don't think it needs to go the lounge since it is a legitamate truck "problem". The only thing about the bug bombs is that if you have any little kids (didn't know if you did), they have the tendency to put their mouths on things and might get sick. I'm picturing your house like the scenes towards the end of arachnaphobia with the spiders everywhere, find the queen and you kill them all :D

Thanks to the few members who tried to keep this thread on track. CK5 is about sharing and helping anyone, not just people with money. His thread is on how to remove spiders from his truck, not his home, so this could be concidered Garage tech. I'm willing to bet theres more than one person that has had a spider infestation in their truck before. He was just trying to get their help on his problem. Anyway back to the post at hand. :wink1:

Yeah, I don't want to pull onto the road after just getting it street legal, to be bitten to death before i can even get to the dirt =X

Thanks, Ill reverse my deletion requests.
I think i start my auto shop job next weekend, Ill take the money i make from that and put it on CK5.

now, once again, before being bombarded with lounge demands, What do you guys think about setting off a RAID Deep reach fogger in my truck? Should i roll the windows all the way down? Crack them?

And no, small children and pets are not a problem. I'm mainly looking for comments saying its not a good idea before i try it lol

Will a bug bomb in the jimmy mess up my windows/seats/ and stuff? Not in the best of condition, but i don't want it to permanently screw up my windows.

I did email RAID and ask them about it, but chances are they wont know a damn thing about setting it off in a vehicle.
And i will take the battery out before use, Don't worry about that. And i don't have any speakers or radio for it to ruin either.

After doing the bug bomb I would open the doors and tail gate and let it air out for a few hours and to let any dying spiders escape and crawl away to die elsewhere besides your truck, plus after you sit in it any wet residue could be transfered to your clothes and then into your house. I would probably crack a window to allow any excess to escape so your not totally drenching the inside of the truck, although I'm sure that's what you're going for. Also, if you have any seat covers I would remove them from the seats, but leave them in the truck (so they get treated also) to allow your seats themselves to be treated, also glove box and any other things that open. That's what you do if your treating a house so do the same on your truck. Take out anything you don't want to get wet and ruined. me and my wife set them off in the house one time and the whole area around the foggers was wet. So just prepare yourself to have the inside of your truck to be wet.

i dont know about the bugbomb.. if you drop food on the seat or carpet and eat it, you'll have a little bit of poison on it, and when you get in and out the seats will make an invisable puff of poison...

I hate em too!..

I've had more bad experinces with spiders, wasps, rats, and other vermin like fire ants when I was working at the junkyard!..those pests move into a junked vehicle the same day they arrived at the yard(or were already living in it when it was hauled in most likely!)...I hated wasps the most, the spiders here can look scary, but for the most part are harmless(though we do have black widows around here!:eek1: )..I've had HUGE brown "wood" spiders in my garage before--I hate those things with a passion!..they JUMP right on you !..and are as big as a tarantula!..:eek1:

I squish them as soon as I see them..more than once I've been under the dash of a vehicle ,removing a radio or other parts, and one of those big brown "wood spiders" that resemble tarrantulas bigger than a quarter would be nesting in the wiring harness!!--or those black and yellow/green "garden spiders"..:eek1: --I'd rip a gash in my face in my haste to flee!...

I've encountered snakes too!--living inside boxed frame rails..one car I cut up had over 100 baby garter snakes in the frame rails!!..came crawling out like some ailien creature--I also found a toad that looked like a peice of granite!--it must have been some weird mutation due to the oil and other pollution in the yard!..

You cant tell me junkyards are harmful to the environment--we had more bugs, squirrels, rabbits, chipmonks, beaver, woodchucks, muskrats, foxes, birds, and snakes, frogs, and turtles there than any "nature sanctuary" I've visited in this area there!..they find abandoned cars excellent homes!.

We used carb cleaner or brake cleaner as "bug spray" more than we ever used it for its intended purpose..nothing kills spiders and bees faster,I can spray a wasp coming at me in mid flight, and it'll drop to the ground before it gets to me..try that with "hornet and wasp killer" spray..they do die,but live several minutes, and will sting the S*** outta you before they croak!..we bought carb cleaner by the case, and gave customers pulling their own parts a free can,and told them we were not liable if they got stung..had a few close calls when a few parts hunters were allergic, and had a bad reaction--had to call EMT's!..

I'd just spray some carb cleaner under the dash area, and anywhere else you see or suspect and spiders..it will kill them fast, and leave no toxic residues to cause potential problems later on..it will flush them out, when they come staggering out and fall on the floor, give them a good soaking--and they will be history!..I've had a few stubborn ones still coming at me a few times..a flick of my bic lighter made quick work of them!--WHOOOFF!..:D

I didn't mind stripping cars for parts in the winter, despite the cold..at least it puts all the wasps and spiders, snakes, ans ants to sleep permanently!..mice and rats dont mind the cold though..find them living in the seats and heater box all the time..

Yeah, my parents have hedge apples in our front porch, works great

Take everything out (ie.seat's and carpet) It will take a day,but you will know for sho you got everything out.

that might be a good idea so you don't have to set the bomb off inside the truck. Tarp off an area or something and let 'er rip. I'm sure some people might not appreciate the "pollution" though. You need to kill mother nature, so mother nature doesn't kill you, she doesn't care what weapons she uses, but people will do everything in their power to limit the ones you use. It's a terrible double edged sword.
Edit: but if you were that worried about pollution you probably wouldn't drive a K5.

Just get one of those bug bombs and toss it in and walk away. They are made to be safe after you air out the area. By the way I live in VA also, maybe a 1/2 hour away from you.

Sorry, but I didnt really think it was that (tech related). But try 1 of these no pest strips, they work great for my garage and Im sure it would work even better in a car.:waytogo:
