give me ideas

As far as i know its a 4L60E.. but it came with a stall converter and runs high rpms and doesnt kick down. Its kinda wierd to explain. Almost like it has a shift kit in it. But i dont think it does. I can hit the throttle while cruising at lower speeds like 20 or 30mph and bring it up over 1500rpmthe and then itll take off (but no clunks or hard shifts) one time mashed the gas at about 20mph and could swear i went from 20mph to 70mph in less then 5 seconds... im not saying its that different from everone elses but its definitely got some different character

It say s 1,2,3,D and it doesnt do 1800 rpm at 65mph. Im more at 2500rpm

some more pics...funny too since I can swap axles, and fix cars.....puting in speaker systems/ cross overs etc. is a mystery to me..Not my thing..I hate wiring

and more pics (one is when i put a 14 bolt under it) and the 10 bolt cover i bought is for that massive leak you see. no fill plug in the cover.. there is one on the front of the axles but its so stuck, spend hours trying to get it out and just quit.. new solution: new cover with fill hole

Wait a sec..... You put a 14bff on it and then put a ten bolt in its place? Did you have 6 lug hubs? The fock?:dunno:

It is 6 lug all the way around ..

the 14 bolt was put in because i needed an axle in a pinch. The old axle blew up going down the road (it was a 10 bolt)

i pulled my axle out of my hot rod c20 and stuffed it in there so i could drive it... but even though it was an awesome axle.. the axle ratios were different and the 14 bolt had a spool in it which made life difficult, so i put a 10 bolt back in it

The truck originally had 6 lugs and still does .....(14bolt was 8 lugs, so different rims and tires were on back

HAHAHAHAH :haha:

well, there goes the truck, the tools, the dog, my guitar, and my computer and my next 10 years of 401k

my truck has 3.42 gears and its a 4 speed no overdrive 1:1 final drive also has a stall converter

but ive got 425 or so hp.. posi rear end

Im not a fan of turbos, I would supercharge it before turboing it. so many more issues with a turbo then supercharger.

blocks in the rear?

did you have to get different offset wheels? or could you use stock

So a K&N, and a flowmaster puts a 5.3 at 425 horses? I'm willing to bet GM didnt build a special non OD 4 speed for a limited production sticker and option package pickup. A good stall will behave normally while cruising, sounds like you've got a trans issue.

Its highly probably it is nothing special. But this was the only year they were.made and at limited production.. this ttanny has no issues. Shifts flawless, drop down flawless, no chatter, no hunting, no burning smells, no leaks....shift points may be different, or set different, something like that.. fluid is still looking decent after 130k

the truck also has tailer wires, programmer.......its not like the motor is 150hp stock....

Give it rear steer? Only driven one quad steer silverado but it was really cool. 5.3 isn't a bad power plant, really. Put it back to factory height, get some cool rims & tires.

people really dont like the tires and rims on there???? huh odd

no rear steer (even though the quadrasteer was cool) i have enough rear end issues lol.. and probably would cost a small fortune

Move the exhaust out at 45s, set of headers, high flow cats, ported throttle body, and a tuner, and you're done!

well, the odd thing about that, I just got offered a "yard truck" with a 6.2 diesel.. he said he might scrap it. I am going to look at it. maybe for SAS, I can use the axles.. Told it was a dana 44 front and 14BSF rear, 6.2L with th400..so we will see, maybe i can use the axles or buy the whole truck depending on the nastiness of the body

So if its good, just want to make sure I pay a fair prices for the stuff
