Glorified Grocery Getter Build- WARN Premiums and Dual Battery Mock Up and Boxes

Are those mirrors the electric ones? How do they work out for you? Truck looks great by the way. You gonna take the kids wheeling? :D

Thanks. The mirrors work great, and have a wide range of motion. I love not having to adjust them by hand like I used to on my truck everytime the hubby drove. The kids love wheeling esp if we add hunting or just looking for wildlife. They even get a kick out of taking a shortcut ona dirt road on the way home from school. It's about the only time they like riding in a vehicle. They don't like highway driving.

looks sweet! good job :waytogo: what size do those tires messure out too? burbs should have came like that from the factory...
so overalll how do u like the ride compared to stock?

With the 16x10s widening them out they only measure 32" tall, I'll measure the width tomorrow. A lot smaller than I'd wanted to run, but on the bright side I won't have the extra trouble of fender trimming. I've been sick with a bugger of a cold for a few days, thus lack of progress installing the left over odds and ends (brake lines, sway bar correction, steering brace, shock towers.) :( As far as ride quality, I'd say it's slightly less jarring than stock, which is amazing considering lifts almost always make it stiffer, and I'm sporting cheap pro-comp shocks instead of the bilstein monotubes I was planning to run. Once I get the rest of everything installed I'll give an official evaluation. Thanks for the compliments. :D

Got the front brake lines ground to fit and installed tonight. (what a PIA grinding, if you need the rounded kind instead of the rectangular be sure to tell Shawn at Black Widow when you order) I'll get some pics up tomorrow. I don't think I'll ever run out of line. :D

TO DO:
  • Rear Brake Line
  • Steering Box Brace
  • Sway Bar Disconnect/Correction
  • Shock Towers
  • Warn Premium Locking Hubs (Thanks, Ryan.)
  • Poly Body Bushings

Rear Brake Line Coming Soon.

Gotta get these hubs cleaned off and installed.

Once I got my R134a conversion done I had the same problem as most conversions, air gets warm at low speeds or when idling. This also caused my compressor to never turn off, so my engine would start to overheat. So, my solution was two 8" Perma-cool fans to be installed in between the Aux oil & tranny coolers and the condensor. That should keep the air flowing on the condensor and the A/C cold. Here's what the look like

S6300030.jpg

To install them I just unbolted the aux coolers and mounted them on the back of the aux coolers mounting strips. Then I remounted the aux coolers with longer bolts and screws at the top.

I need to pick up some more bolts and screws then I'll install the second one. Their grounds are run to the core support and the power will come off a relay activated by the compressor (thanks for the tip Jason). When I'm done my remote start should be useful again since I'll be able to cool off the burb before we get in. :D Gotta love that when it's triple digits outside.

You got a better pic of your caliper ? I wanna compare my 1/2 ton 10 bolt to your 3/4 ton 10b .

Here is what mine looks like with the square ones installed anyway . I didn't go through the little nubs the line goes through , just to the side . 3 years on it so far .

They are very different. Mine have ridges on both sides that curve around the top and bottom and kind of cradle the ends. fter I ordered I noticed that some places listed the Pro Comp lines as only going through '86. My burb actually already had the wrong lines on it. When I went to buy a new line to use as a template for grinding I bought ones for 8600 GVWR for the heavy 3/4tons. They were longer and wider, and would have fit into the cradles on the calipers perfectly, the ones on the capliers were the 7200 version for the light 3/4tons. I also noticed the ones I took off and my new ones had smaller holes for the fluid than the 8600 version that should be on them. I assume that doesn't help stopping power.

Thank you . I don't remember seeing those style . Must have overlooked them .

I got to look at the other 10 bolt I just got :thumb:

I necroed this to see if I could get the pics to work and to find out if you are still doing work on it? (like it ever stops)

Actually, life has gotten in the way. Not to mention the weather. We had an unusually hot August and early September this year. I've also been distracted with other projects like this

I ripped out our vinyl and carpet and replaced it with a floating wood vinyl plank. It was a lot of time and work, and I've only finished the kitchen and family room. I still need to do the living/dining room, bathroom, and laundry. It's my first ever major home improvement project. So far I love it. Anyways, I'll have some progress to report on the burb after this weekend. Some stuff I'm pretty excited about. ;)

Right on. The floor looks great. Do you do tile as well? j/k I need to get some house work done too, but I always save that for winter. We spend all the hot summer months on the lake boating and waterskiing!

What are you plans for the axels?

Well, this weekend when I pull the rotors to be turned, I'll pull off the autos and put on some WARN premium hubs courtesy of desertrat67 and that's it for now with the axles. I have a one ton 14BFF sitting in the garage, but it would need rebuilt and the perches moved and with so many other things on the burb that need attention, and my 33s not being a threat to break anything, my 10 bolt and 14 bolt semi-floater will be staying around for awhile. (wow, that was a ramble.)

You might want to really make sure you want that in the bathrooms, I have it in my house, and decided not to do the bathrooms, beacause there is too much moisture. If you get it wet, you are supposed to dry it up, if it gets in the cracks, it can swell it. I have a spot that that happened, and don't even know how.

Whoops, my bad, I'll fix that. Actually I meant to say, it's not wood laminate plank(plywood with a wood picture or veneer), it's vinyl resilient plank that comes in with a overlapping underlayer that sticks the planks together and it's completely waterproof and only $1.67/sq ft at HD with a 25 yr warranty. :D Also, you don't have to check your concrete for moisture or put down any pad stuff. Sorry I mistyped. Thanks for looking out for me though, Jason.
