I'm one linking the rear, yea yea, flame away. It suits my needs and driving style and its in my knowledge range and budget. I'm using cat clamshells and grader ball.

Looking for ideas/pics of you're home made coil spring buckets or mounts.

Think zero budget, i have steel, a welder, and a plasma cutter so i can fabricate whatever, just looking for ideas.

I was thinking some tubing to center the spring, welded to a round plate, with a chain running through the middle so i can let the spring ride loose up top and drop a little at full droop. And the same thing at the axle only clamped to the plate via j hooks or small u bolts

Contact Big Papa B on here. He just bought a linked frame from me. Coil buckets are trick. I am sure he will send you pictures.

Circle plate, tube in center to center spring and to run a bumpstop through, 2 ubolts on either side of spring to hold it

Done. I like that idea.

And to all others. A buddy of mine has the ruffstuff perches and his springs slide around sometimes, so I decided against those. They aren't machined for the profile of the spring so they don't hold very well on the axle side perches.

Yeah, I've got the flat plate mounts and they kind of moved around a bit, not bad though

Crossmember, not done, needs some more bracing and paint.
The 2x6 is 3/8 and everything else is 1/4

And the heims im using for the panhard bar sitting up top

And stock jk springs, only 40 miles on them.

Crossmember finished up and painted, and started on the panhard bar.

I'm using 2" heims and 1 5/8 chromo
My frame side mount will actually be inside the frame rail and i'm fabricating a tower for the axle side to get it nice and flat.

The coils are James Duff 3" Early Bronco progressive rate. The mounts a friend of mine cut and they are similar to Balistic Fab adjustable uppers and the lowers are just some round plate the size of the spring with a couple of axle mounts welded on the bottom. I would have to dig up some pics of the pieces. None of that is on anymore because I now run Fox air shocks.

Did that hold the springs in well?

I hear ya on the air shocks. Not in budget though
When money permits, im going with ORI struts.

But until then my jk coils should be more than enough.

Pink sledge... :D

I used to have to paint my tool's, when I worked for Beazer Homes.
I don't miss construction.... :haha:
