Got any cool tools lately?

Decided to buy myself the Milwaukee 3/8” stubby m12 impact to go along with my m12 ratchet. Also bought 2 3ah batteries since they were $35 off at Home Depot.
This thing is bad ass. Made quick and easy work of replacing the transfer case adapter, trans mount, and engine mounts. It’s now my new favorite tool.

I have a set of knipex alligators that are 24 years old.
Still the only type of channel lock style pliers I'll use. Ive even had work special order them for me at every job since then.

I ordered one of these from lowes and some belts/discs from empire abrasives (using a 10% off discount)

*update*

We got it in, built a stand, and have been using the crap out of it. I ordered the extra belts and disks figuring the ones it came with would be poor quality, not so. I have used it to sand plastic, aluminum, sheet metal, and 1/8" steel and the belt still looks new.

Lately, for whatever reason, I’ve been on a Mac kick on evilbay.

I’ve had a super handy 1/4” drive kit forever, one of my first purchases. Saturday I saw a 3/8” version that I didn’t know they made - had to have it! Nothing special, just cool. (I really want a metric kit but $$$)

Old on the left, “new” on the right.

OK, so this one isn't so much a tool but man is it nice. I have seen the commercials on TV for these and wasn't sure if it would be worth it but figured I would go buy 1 for the shop to try. I now have 2 in the shop and 1 in the tack room, waaayyyyy brighter than the old lights.

This thing..... This thing works awesome on LS heads. Putting springs back in almost requires an extra hand though.

All the Snap-On stuff I have has been bought used on eBay. I also get used Kent-Moore tools on eBay.

My latest purchase was a new Milwaukee M18 1/2" impact. My first Milwaukee purchase was a 1/2" impact so it's now 7 years old. This past weekend taking the u-bolts off the rear springs on the C10, it wouldn't move the nuts. I ended up using my torque wrench set to 250ft-lbs and it never clicked once. So it wasn't pulling 250ft-lbs anymore. I looked up the specs, and it should be able to do 450ft-lbs. I think this was the first time it's let me down. I was even using my 9mah battery.

Given that short coming and that's it's 7 years old, it seem like a good excuse to get a new impact. The new has 650ft-lbs of "nut-busting" torque. Plus it has a cool setting that will torque a fastener to no more than 35ft-lbs. And the work lights are great. The compact size will be a big plus over the old one. The crazy thing is Milwaukee calls this "mid-torque" but it's more powerful than my old one. Plus it's brushless so it should last longer than the old one. Old vs new.

My father-in-law is always borrowing it so now he can still use this old one and I'm not getting my new one abused by other people.

I got 2 of those for my birthday last year. They work really well.

Well, I couldn’t stand it and grabbed a 3/8” metric kit. It’s pretty nice. These kits are great for quick driveway work, no need to grab 10 different things.

Now I just need a 1/4” metric kit to satisfy the itch.

not anything cool or special but I ordered a Dewalt set from Home Depot during their Black Friday sale. https://www.homedepot.com/p/DEWALT-...EM-22-in-Medium-Tool-Box-DWMT45226H/310827235 it was about 1/2 price of what it is listed for now.
I just had it shipped to the house and when it came in the box was all broken up. I called Home Depot and they were out of stock and did not know if they would get any more back in. a few weeks later I looked at the website and they were back in stock. so I called to order a replacement. they were very helpful but when it came time to do another order to replace the broken one I did not have my card on me at work. so a few weeks later I called again with my card and they processed the order and the lady took a 1/3 off the price that I had paid for it originally for my trouble. I had it sent to the store this time so maybe it would not get tore up.

Have not used the 1/4 drive yet, but the 1/2 works great. Torqued the front axle with it. Like it better then the craftsman.
