Got any cool tools lately?

@K85 Octane very similar to mine also made in Twain. I have had mine for 35 years and It was new in box, purchased at a yard sale. Old guy bought it and never set it up.
I esp like the round work table. You can bolt a vise to it, then rotate table, move arm to align next spot to drill.
It take an MT2 shank and I now have a collet set and shank for mine, along with x y vise.

Wifey got me a gift card for Home Depot for Christmas, so picked this out. 1/2 inch impact came with bag, one battery, charger, and 11 deep impact sockets. They had a deal that I also got the flashlight free. Not Milwaukee or De Walt but should work fine for me. 20230118_215310.jpg

If it's the one with 1170lbs of power , you'll be happy with it :waytogo: .

I frickin love mine.

Made by the same company (TTI) that makes Milwaukee, Rigid and Wal-Mart's HART.

I have the cobras with the locking button. my go to, have had 15+ years. other than the blue point which is the small pipe nipple, stud and stripped head remover, the Knipex is it.
There are larger normal slip joint water pump pliers in my tool box, mostly for those special gorilla tightened oil filters.

Absolutely love these Knipx, been my go to for years at work. One hand adjustment in a tight space can’t be beat. I like my small flat jaw ones too, but I’d rather have a ford wrench once the size goes up.

This is what lives on my tool belt. Snappy flat blade & ratcheting, knipex cobra & flat, Klein needle nose
w/ cutters, Craftsman adjustable, Streamlight Stinger. Belt is a 5.11 gun belt I started using after getting tired of saggy leather ones. Tool holder is made by a coworker. The ford wrench fits in there where the adjustable is, but it’s too heavy to carry around all the time. When I still worked for a living full time vs being an instructor I had a 2 way radio on there too.

I’ve got bigger & smaller cobras and flat jaws in my toolbox, but these are what I always have on my hip. This is typical of what most guys working for the airlines carry.

After the first week, I'm still missing my flat jawed 420s. I find that I have to consistently readjust the Knipex jaws to get a good hold on things.

The Knipex grip well once you get them set, but I would be half done with the task using my 420s by the time I get the Knipex adjusted and on the fastener to use them.

This was the case with the 1" tube nuts as well as the 2.5" pipe plugs I deal with weekly for PM work.

They gripped the Plasti-bond 1/2" sealtite connectors pretty well when we changed those 3 (chemically) burned up flow converters under the scrubber, but it took a couple trys to get them adjusted properly and hooked up.

My new purchase is not nearly as cool as the stuff you guys are posting. But every now and then a need arises for something special.

I need a marker to transfer locations through stuff occasionally. I have shaved pencils down, but they suck on smooth material. Found these through Googlefoo. Made for transferring through thick material.

I have used a black and a blue so far. Have not frozen in the food trailers over night. Work when the material is damp, unlike sharpies. Probably full of radiation or something.

The only thing in english is "Sipa", "made in china" and "Long Nib Marker".PXL_20230126_191052463.jpgPXL_20230126_191101833.jpg

Those are cool, I just ordered 2 of the multi colored sets. Thanks Wade.

I told Eileen, "even if they only last for 10 uses, worth every penny for those ten times not having to figure something else out".

I have been using them for everything. One thing about them, they work better at 90* to the surface you are marking. Leaning over leaves a lighter line.

Not a tool, but tool related.

Slowly getting bits to wire up the shed.

Picked up some used 4’ fluorescent bulb fixtures, gutted them and put in Leds.

Still dealing with some shadows by the bench. So picked up some more fixtures, shed’s about to get lit. Overkill is a good thing right?

Got this cultivator, doing this manually sucks but the yard needed it and I couldn't afford the gas powered or electric one. I didn't look that hard either at the non-manual ones. But this manual one was like $50 at Home Depot. Needed to seed the yard since it's finally warming up to low 70's in AZ this coming week

@TJ1978 the yard looks good! I've always like how western states have the concrete block "fences", lasts forever vs wood.
