This is probably a question for a different thread but why do you set them an 1/8" IN instead of at zero?
I’m not 100% sure, I just know that’s the general consensus across internet. My bet is that the normal rolling resistance wants to push them apart so 1/8” in makes them straight going down the road.
Camber, caster and toe in all work together to make a vehicle not wander when going down the road.
Some straight axle vehicles were speed with 0 toe. I still set those at 1/8" in.

Check out my project this past week. Guy up the road came by and gave me the remains of an unused two-ton hoist. Awkwardly, I already have a hoist just like this one but newer that I bought a few months back and can't return. My friend up the road said I could have this one too so I decided to sell it. I'm about $60 in on getting it back together including building a support bars and jack handle but here we are. Probably going to put in the classified section soon.

Yeah, typically fwd you set slightly toe out because the pulling force of the front wheels.
Anyone have recommendations on a decent ball joint press?
The one from HF served me fine.
my HF press has done many ball joints, u joint and control arm bushings. Is pre Maddox, probably Pittsburgh. The add on adapter set leaves a little to be desired, but the press tool has 3 pieces my set doesn't have.

Yeah that's a great tool, I have used at work. Couldn't justify the $400.00+ dollars 20 years ago to buy.

Get a stout air hammer to push in and out ball joints. It’s also an air hammer after that!
Ingersoll rand long barrel. Things a beast
I have the ingersol rand long barrel, and I'm actually not impressed.
It doesn't seem to be any better than the $20 chitball one I had before it. Even sounds weak.

It’s probably a Chinese knock off.
I have @Desert_K5 ’s and it’ll blow a frame rivit clean off like butter.
Unless they changed the internals or sum b.s.
