Got any cool tools lately?

I find if you don't push to hard they work a lot better. Just enough pressure to control the blade and keep it moving forward. More technique than tool.

My go to is the Snapy long barrel PH3050B

...

I suppose that can be said about a lot of tools, I was always told "Let the tool work for you".

Got a double sided parts bin on wheels during Labor Day sale at HF.

Was looking at those... big chunk to bite off, but I'll have to see if I can swing it.

Ive had great luck with the harbor freight cheap one. I literally tried pressing my BJ's the wrong way, which is hte same as trying to break it, with all I could give it with my impact, and it was fine.

For as often as many of us do ball joints, the HF one is fine.

Not necessarily a tool but a friend of mine called to see if i wanted an winch for my new trailer. he said it was old and had been sitting in his warehouse for several years. Didn't really know what he had, wouldn't take any money for it and he even through in a new synthetic rope. I want to restore it, any help would be greatly appreciated. Oh and it will not be going on the trailer. This will be a sweet addition on the K5. The trailer is going to rep a budget badland :saweet:

Nice! I know there is a new bigger motor you can put on and a contactor to get rid of the solenoids.
I’ve got the part numbers to update the 8274 to the current specs.

Main things are the contactor service pack Pn 102339, controller to match Pn 83665 and the 9.5xp motor, Pn 68608. The motor needs the splined pinion gear Pn 98380.

Service kits for the lower housing and brake assemblies are on 8680 (lower housing) and 8409 (brake).

Warn does have all parts guides on their website by serial number, but beyond the motor and solenoid/contactor parts the actual hardware is pretty interchangeable. I’d double check the numbers for the service kits based on your serial number but I’m betting it’s the same.

Horror Freight has a buy this 5ah battery kit and get a free tool right now. One of the tools listed is a Hercules grease gun I am tempted. We'll see if I can resist

Check out my project this past week. Guy up the road came by and gave me the remains of an unused two-ton hoist. Awkwardly, I already have a hoist just like this one but newer that I bought a few months back and can't return. My friend up the road said I could have this one too so I decided to sell it. I'm about $60 in on getting it back together including building a support bars and jack handle but here we are. Probably going to put in the classified section soon.
