I've been looking at those at our local equipment actions too. We could use it for the business. I can't remember now which brand their selling, but they usually sell for 2 to 3 thousand.Recently laid off from the construction gig ,have about 10 months until I want to start getting Social Security, which will allow me to make as much as I want without penalty.
Been looking at at these Chinese mini excavators ,with concern over tariffs ,taxes ,and everything else, went ahead and picked up a 2025 1.7 ton and some attachments.
Bidding on local equipment auctions hoping to get a auger with some bits and a hammer for light concrete demo.
Will be looking into dump trailers in the next few weeks, nothing too big ,but enough to haul the mini and some attachments.
Has swing boom, hydraulic thumb, pilot controls ,740 cc v-twin,oil and hydraulic coolers, insulation through out.

I have used a few of these little ones and I am not impressed. That looks just like the mini-mill trap that I bought into. Half the jobs I try on it make me wish I had a bigger mill.
Even though that excavator can no doubt dig faster than a shovel, I'd probably still find myself bitching to someone over a beer that I didn't buy a bigger one from the start.![]()

Give me a real mini excavator or a backhoe any day.
If my arms spread wider than the equipment width I will pass
The skid you have is perfect. If your any kind of height at all, this would probably be too small then lol.
Only 5.6' outside width of the tracks.

I'm the same way kinda. My little Gehl was to small.felt unstable, so I bought this one.
The super tiny X's like that make me Leary.
This is about as small as I'd like. Actually want that model pretty bad.
Still like $30k though quite used.

I have worked plenty on wobbly equipment, since I am not a professional I don't mindI went with an 80s Komatsu PC30-5. It is too worn out for a business, but perfect for my 5-acre property and willprobably outlive me.
