Gotta new build coming up!

Woah, lots to cover here.

Factory sending unit is probably not as doable as a universal type sending unit set up to work with the 0 - 90 ohm gauge that GM uses.

15-20 gallon should easily be doable and tucked up a bit higher. A skid of some sort will be R and D'd right along with the tank. Has to be in the case of an aluminum tank.

Made to order is our specialty. We do alot of it. While the made to order is happening, we end up devising a piece that works for most and color outside the lines as needed from there to get something that works for everybody case by case.

Cable shifters, We can look into it. At some point in this build we'll get to shifters for both the trans and the tcase.

Love the fuel tank/skid plate idea. I could be in the market for one of those. Bad thing is I would want to rebuild my rear bumper then.

Anyone know aprox, how many gallons a tank that was flush with the bottom of the frame would hold?

I'm gona guestimate somewhere aroud 15 gallons. Could be a touch more or less depending on the front to back measurement mosty. The other two I can't be too far off.

For those of us who have a LWB with a sadle tank ( witch is a 18 gal ) 15 ish would be a good set up to buy, can;t wait.

I agree. The Ford trucks from '73 to '79 that had the flat tank in the frame rails way at the ass end under the bed were 15 gallon tanks. That will give you an idea how much they hold.

What about making tanks for the K10, 20 and 30 trucks like the K5's have?

And make tanks that are flush with the bottom of the frame rails and taller with the option of a body lift. For example: A truck with no body lift will have a tank approx. 6" tall. For each inch of body lift, per the customers choice, add another inch. This gains extra gallons as they go taller. Just so the bottom of the tank remains tucked up higher, say with the bottom of the framerails.

I just thought of another idea today. How about a DIY tube bed kit like All pro offroad offers for the toyota mini trucks? http://www.allprooffroad.com/pickuptrailarmor/pickupflatbedkit

If it became popular you could offer it for longbed trucks as well. Plus options for tool box, storage box, battery box, spare tire mount, etc.

Tube bed is a cool idea. Shipping would suck. Have to be a weld together kit or something similar.

Engine crossmembers is a for sure deal.

Preparations have been made for the dashes as well.

Flatbed kit.

My older friend who is an exilent fabricator say that toyotapic and built the same flatbed for this fullsize.

is what you just wrote any more understandable? :haha: just kidding - i figured it out. :D

I'm voting for the engine crossmember/panhard setup and the dash panels. Maybe a simple low cost anti-wrap setup - a budget (~$100) version of the wraptor?

Oh and the adjustable front hangers for the rear springs....

...and front extended shock mounts/hoops. Maybe with a bar over the engine to link them. Basically an improvement over the super duty towers.

... and I like the fuel tanks. Maybe set them back further in the frame for longer wheelbases? Or if they don't hang down below the frame maybe that is enough.

cable shifter for the 700R4? even better a cable shifter for a RMVB...

also a real weld on rollcage kit for the 73+ Chebby's...not the crap that Jeg's sells. I know a lot of guys look into these. something basic that can built off of...didn't read much of thread so didn't see all of the suggestions so I may have missed this one.

For a CK5 phenomenon mentioned earlier...how about a 10 speed t-case that's the size of an atlas :D

I just got done reading the new Four Wheeler and couldn't help but see the install of Off Road Evolutions rear Cantilever susension system for the Jeep Wrangler series of vehicles. The whole concept behind it is: it allows the vehicle to achieve extreme rear wheel travel without the need of cutting into the rear passenger area with any type of suspension mounts, shock hoops, ect. I couldn't help but think something like that would be awesome for a K5. (not necessarily a clone of their product, but something that accomplishes the same thing.) All the other people it seems are ignoring the older Chevys. All the cool stuff is getting made for the newer vehicles.
