Totally agree on what’s posted above.

I think you can be up and going for around $500. Start searching CL in the surrounding areas.

No sense in feeling sorry for yourself, it’s just going to slow you down and derail your project. If you pulled the head and it wasn’t outside your comfort zone, you can swap this motor. Especially if you take pics and ask questions. First thing to tackle is pull the cooling system/fan. You probably need to pull the front clip Tom make your swap easier. Especially if it’s your first time finessing an engine in and out. Get started and get this ting ready for the motor.

Manual or automatic?

Its Auto Honestly I have no clue to how to get the front clip off at all but I did fine pulling the head off myself I have my rad out also this might seem like a newb question how do i get the fan off my engine

Leave it on the water pump. Bolt it all back on that way

But if you have the radiator off, you can get to the bolts. And for the love of all things Chevy, post some pictures in here!

Youtube is your friend
I bet everything you need can be found with a search. Pulling the clip has been covered lots on here. Search skills are important.

You will find the build thread to be a huge asset. The more you put into it, the more responses and help you will receive

Go learn something, we’ll talk trucks later

So here's an update I just got off the phone with my dad he said he is going to take a break from remolding our house this week and help me My plan for today I guess now when I get home is get my hood off and get my front clip ready to be pulled finish unhooking the few lines left on it then do motor mounts and wait for my dad to get home and go from there

So my front brake lines need to be replaced as they where a bit old and i told the line that goes to the wheel off and the littler hard metal line was rusted through and snapped right off do you know where i could find these?
Yeah auto store. Spray both ends with Wd40 and remove it. Then you can match the size. You will have form it to fit

Now we’re moving in the right direction. Take pics before you start pulling things off. Label anything hat you’re not 100% sure where it goes.

To be honest I have been burnout since freshman year I have missed roughly 20 days and its 3rd quarter now which is a lot but I get by hardly doing nothing all A's and B's except for one C turn most things in late etc I also skip a decent bit of some classes. But when it comes to helping my dad with remolding I already do it's normally the main thing I do my dad understands the whole teenager first truck and having a love for it kinda thing so he wants to help me get it to a point where I can get mainly everything done alone. The reason I got an old square was because 1. I love the body style and 2. It's a good lesson for me about responsibility and teaching me how to do things to my own car and teaching me skills. I'm pretty mechanically inclined so that helps not the best in school but real world applications is where its at for me I mean I have put 4.56 gears in my axle alone no youtube or anything just trying it and checking it

Making a brake line is easy, and a skill that’s good to have in your tool bag. Make sure you get the right size and thread, and match the old one as close as you can. They make cheap tools to help bend them without kinking.

I know this might sound weird but thats kinda out of my comfort zone right now and idk why. It just doesnt feel right to me. Hell I pulled my heads and up off of my engine regeared my axles and did my lift.

I do plan on going to community collage and get a 2 year diploma at minimum. I'll probably transfer to a 4 year college after that and finish out a main degree. I will be the first male in my family to ever go to college so even though I hate the hell out of the way schools teach and treat students like 3 year olds sometimes im going to do it to make me and my family proud and say I was the first. Also lets be honest where can u get a jod with out a diploma now a days
