Griff's thread about nothing in particular.

You have the sickness!!! I had it once but am mostly over it. Stop looking at for sale sites and other trucks and stuff for sale. LOL I know it's hard but it will get better.

This. If you don't have any money, window shopping will just make you miserable. This is true in general, not just when it comes to buying vehicles.
Applies to women too

I swear I stopped looking! I just happened to hop on CL just for the hell of it, and I found that truck.

Sounds like you're in need of a 12-step problem. :deal:

Hopping on CL is looking at things for sale. Looking at things for sale as what I call shopping. Whether or not you want a particular item before you started, the desire is going to hit you sooner or later. And misery will ensue if you aren't in a position to take advantage of it.

This is why I don't bother checking CL. At all. For anything. Unless I need a given thing AND have money in hand for it.

You shush.

Stop trying to be a good influence.

Ok. Go blow all your money on hookers and booze. Play chicken with the train and take up bank robbing as a hobby. Start blaming other people for personal failings and mooch funding from the welfare system.

Is that more likable advice? :dunno:

Well, thanks to you guy's good advice, I got another truck. :pimp:

It has round headlights, a 454, SM465, 205, Dana 60 in front, Dana 70 in the rear. A/C and a factory tach.
Supposed to go pick it up next week.

Sounds like a winner. How's the rust?

Rust? What rust?

Oh, it's got four doors and six tires.

Rockers have some surface rust, but aren't bad, the front floors aren't the best but you can still put weight on them. The passenger side front fender has some surface rust starting, And bottom of the tailgate is starting to go.

Side note: Why is Google unable to come up with a picture of a real rust bucket? All I get is this perfectly clean patina stuff like the Western states get. Like this.

That doesn't count as rust. Salt rust has a very different look. I guess Google hasn't encountered it yet.

Looks like a nice rig. What are the plans for this one?

First thing, ditch that shit-tastic steering wheel, clean it up, go find the trim it's missing. Change the mirrors out for the proper big tri-pods.

Then maybe some unnecessary lift (3-4 inch maybe) Then find some tall narrow tires.

Wait...aren't those the normal tripod mirrors for that series of truck? :dunno:

You could get any mirrors on any truck from the factory (besides west coast mirrors, reserved for 3/4 and one tons)

I just personally don't care for the ones on it now, Not that I don't like the looks of them, just the vent window blocks the passenger side mirror.
