Guess the hp and torque (ord gift card)

My buddy’s built very close to yours was supposed to put out 450 hp crank On the program he had. I’d be happy to see mid to high 300s on a dyno with 35s. I did the same calculating on my built 350 and was not impressed at the numbers I got back. Lol. Not even close.

My 290 for a Dyno jet was almost there, but I didn't guess torque (HP is calculated number from torque anyway), and I'm a vendor, so even if you did send it to me I would just send it to Wes as I also guessed two numbers depending on what dyno you used. I was just playing, I wouldn't accept the prize.

Here is a difference just changing tires on a chassis dyno....36" swampers to 30" load range E truck tires...imagine actual light street car tires...

I think the loss of 25% is somewhat normal for a street tire, but not a big heavy tire. Also, I think your 35" radials aren't as bad as those 36" load range E swampers that weighed 112 pounds per corner. Its probably somewhere in between.

Did they give you the power based on RPM and not wheel speed?

They gave me a print out, I will have to look at it. The tuner told me to go drive it and I turned out leaving a cloud of smoke, then banged 2nd gear for a nice tire scratch.

That poor transmission....
The tuner called BS on it at first, then came back and was like who built that trans. He has never seen or heard of a 4l60e shifting the way it did. Then he took my word for it and set it to wide open line pressure to 250.

It will scratch the tires shifting into 3rd gear... I now need a hans device for road trips. :haha:

so is the hp and torque or the line pressure that is in question here? trying to keep my 700r4 alive. I have been looking at 383's lately, with similar hp and torque specs.

The trans was built to handle 650HP, it has everything you could possibly think of in it. I believe a factory trans at wide open is about 190? With the list of goodies and modified valve body mine can hit 250.

I would use 250 psi as close to the limit, beyond that pressure you can break things like converter hubs and pumps or even shafts. A stock trans peters out about 175 or so.
