I had one in my 96 Dually....it would suck balls in the snow...no weight back there, then when it did lock in...sideways you go.

I kind of planned on taking it apart and modding it a bit

drw was the problem for you zimm. drw makes traction a lot more fun to get if empty .

i use to see a 88-00 ext cab 4x4 drw run the town years ago . winter was drw then summer unbolt drw adaptors on front and run skinny tires like drag car . then rear was like 33 x 15.0 wide drag style tires . looked good in summer trim for sure . filled the drw fender flars nice.

i have always said i like my 14ff ov-loc units best .

and if you know its in a axle AND how to work it thay work just fine.

whats a good posi unit to install if you happen to have a 12 bolt and wana upgrade but no full locker or spool ?

I agree with Zimmer on the true-trac. I have one in my '70 and really enjoy how well it works. I have had it on wet snow and ice and it doesn't take you sideways easily. Great pavement manners too.
