Has anyone else done the Cyclic H3 caliper upgrade, and what wheels have you used?

Incidentally, I checked with my local Discount Tire, and their supplier is telling us that Black Rock 937 series wheels are in "discontinued" status. Now I REALLY have to figure out an alternate wheel that would fit the brake upgrade.
 :1zhelp:

Black rock also makes an aluminum version.
You are looking for a H3 fit with close to zero offset.
The generic rims I used in the past only needed 1/4 spacer to fit and work, so something like classic wagon wheels might fit just fine (16 or 17 inch that is).

I got an email reply back from Thor Parts. They are currently making a batch of brackets and I am now on the waiting list. He said that he would email me when they're ready so I can pay.

So if any of you are looking to buy the brackets, email him. Also it might not hurt to inquire about 8lug versions as well.

Thanks. Sent him an email.

So, to update a little on this.

I bought one wheel to try. Mickey Thompson Clasic III's. 17x9 with 4.5" backspacing (-12mm offset).

They clear just fine. Plenty of room around the caliper. Being a fixed caliper you don't have to worry about it moving as the pads wear either.

Not the best picture, but you can see all the clearance. Next time I get out there, I'll try getting one with the clearance to the spokes.

Looks great! Can you take another picture from further back?

I got my brackets & hubs from Thor last week. Only problem is the truck has been down since thanksgiving week with a dead 700r4. Been sick off & on so I only have the replacement half built. Stay tuned for more info on the trans I'm buildimy, and the wheels I'm looking at for the brake conversion.

BTW... what braided line did you use to hook up your hummer caliper (part number?)

sexy rims, should look great.

Thanks! I was up in the air about a few different styles and finally just pulled the trigger on these.

I'll be out there Friday again and I'll get some more then.

Next time I get out there I'll get a complete list of the parts needed for the brake lines.

Got a few more pics the other day.

From further back. I couldn't get the wheel to stay centered very well as there is no tie rod hooked up yet.

Tried getting some better pics of behind the wheel. There is quite a bit of room between the caliper and spokes.

For the brake lines, I believe I bought the parts from WFO Concepts, or Summit...it's been a while. To go from the hard line to the braided line, you need a 3/8-24 female inverted flare to male -3 AN. The brake lines are -3 AN braided. Banjo fittings were 7/16 to male -3. All in all, it's about the same to buy the premade ones from Superlift if you neee longer ones. I have 4 wheel discs, so I needed five sets of soft lines which is why went this way. There should be no reason why you can't re-use the factory ones though. May need to drill out the end fitting for the bajo bolt.
